I have served 1 term on the Hamburg Borough Council, and this first term has been a learning experience. I have been involved with a lot of volunteer organizations within the Hamburg Borough and Berks County. I am currently serving as President of the Hamburg Lions Club and the Hamburg Grange. I have served as President of the Fleetwood Grange, the Berks County Grange, the Hamburg Jaycees, and St. John's Lutheran Church.
I have served 1 term and have gained experience as how to get things done and what is needed to keep the Hamburg Community as a place for people to raise their families in a safe community. I have lived here for 40 years, and married someone that has lived in the Hamburg borough her whole life. We raised 2 daughters here, because it's good place to live. I love the businesses that are here, the Strand Movie Theater, and the events that are here, such as the King Frost Parade and the Hamburg-er Festival.
Keeping the Hamburg Community a safe place, by maintaining our Police Department, Fire Department, and keeping thriving businesses here.
Currently, Hamburg does not put fluoride in the water, because of the concerns with fluoride being in the water. I support that we do not use fluoride in our water.
Education, Experience
BA in Political Science, AA in Global Studies
I have a lot of government knowledge that can be applied to the council. Obtaining my BA in political science helped me prepare for working the General Assembly, and the General Assembly prepared me to properly serve my community.
I have always had a passion to serve my community. This milestone to serve the borough will not only fulfill my passion to help others but will help me in my long term to be a government representative.
1. Prioritize the voice of the residences of the borough.
2. Uphold the borough ordinance.
3. Work on strengthening our relations with townships, voters, school boards, and all other persons who are effected my borough decisions.
The best way to manage this is to have conversations with our Municipal Authority and Borough Authority to work out a strategic plan on how to keep the well-fare and health of the borough citizens a priority.
