I feel that my professional background in Real Estate, Commercial and Residential offers me the necessary skills, knowledge and the experience to further support our roads and schools. My experience as a right of way consultant and the critical use of eminent domain is also a plus. My negotiating skills are excellent. I have negotiated large compensation packages for claimants as well as small and learned that you must always be sensitive to all people's needs no matter how big the claim.

Continual road improvements. Cumru Twp. has a vast many old country roads that are very expensive to maintain. We are very lucky that Cumru Twp has a great P. W. Dept that works very efficiently. Help the school district as much as possible. Since the school district cannot generate new sources of revenues it is up to the commissioners to help the best we can by encouraging job growth and economic development.
My first thought regarding adding fluoride to the water supply would be, first I would like to see the data and more information from government health authorities and independent labs. If it is positively determined that there is even the slightest chance of risk to health, I could not support it. However, that does not mean that I would unilaterally be against any public health improvement. However, I would definitely exercise the most extreme caution when dealing with a public health issue.

1) No Warehouses - I believe that building warehouses at Gateway on Rt 222 and across from Encompass Health on Rt 10 will not make Cumru Township a nicer place to live.
2) Community-focused Economic Development - It's time for Cumru Township to have more great dining options, entertainment and recreational facilities, alongside a sustainable financial future-based economy.
3 Transparency in Government – We’ll increase public awareness of local decision-making.
Local decisions on fluoridation should be guided by the latest public health and scientific research data and community input. Currently major health organization like The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and The American Dental Association (ADA) support community water fluoridation. I support a transparent process that includes expert consultation and honest engagement with the residents of Cumru Township to prioritize their well-being.

2. Economic development - It's time for Cumru Township to have great dining options, entertainment, and recreational facilities, alongside a sustainable financial future.
3. Transparency in government - Aim to take meaningful steps to increase public awareness of what's happening in their local government.
It’s essential to involve the local community in the conversation. Governments should facilitate open forums, town hall meetings, & surveys to inform residents concerning the potential risks of water fluoridation. It’s crucial to explain how fluoride works and address any concerns related to health. Governments must be clear about their decision-making processes & allow for reviews. Transparency, engage the community in dialogue, rely on expert opinions, and be adaptable to new research & needs.

I am a Cumru Twp Commissioner serving as board president. My experience includes setting policy, enacting ordinances and resolutions, adopting budgets, levying taxes, approve expenditures and hiring employees, oversee day-to-day operation of township government, maintaining a planning commission and Police & Fire Depts., care of roads and bridges by Public Services, enacting ordinances for building, zoning, and health, safety, and welfare of the residents, enforced by the Codes Dept.
NO BACKYARD WAREHOUSE. While warehouses can be a good source of tax revenue without placing an extra burden on over crowded schools, they should be limited to community friendly areas.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY. Keep spending within a well planned budget. Reduce spending. Find new revenues of income.
NO NEW TAXES. Put a pause on taxes. Recent increases in school, township and county taxes are felt by property and business owners alike. I would support PA legislation that ends all property tax.
Cumru Twp is unique in that it does not own its water supply. The township has 4 suppliers. 2 are surface water treatment plants that add fluoride: Reading Area Water Authority & Shillington Borough, that buys water from Western Berks Water Authority. Both PA American & Aqua America supply non- fluorinated ground water. The EPA dictates fluoride levels, not the township or suppliers. Potential changes would be addressed to PA legislators & the EPA and would involve public hearings.
