Education, Experience My background is in banking, not for profit leadership, and small business. I served as a bank manger for 16 years before leaving to run and grow a local not for profit. I have done this while running my own small business. I am not dedicated full time to my small business.
Qualifications My background in business will help me on the school board, but most importantly my role as a dad to two children who attend school in the district and will for the next 8 years will ensure the all the children's needs remain at the forefront of what I do.

My background in banking and business will help make me an effective school director, but most importantly the fact that I am not an educator and will ask the questions that parents ask, and need to know and understand will make me an advocate for parents, students, & community members.
I am running for School director to ensure parents have a voice on the school board and that our children continue to enjoy a safe space to learn & grow free of discrimination, bullying, and the distractions of politics.
1.) Budget: the school needs to respond with a plan that will work for everyone without cutting education's needs. Planning for the possibility of loss of funding from the federal government needs to be top of mind. 2. Ensuring schools remain safe environments that encourage learning and expression for all students. 3. Keeping politics out of our schools and not imposing our adult issues & students. These things lead to unsafe envoirnments, bullying and other distractions.
absolutely we do. Students should graduate with the most basic skills to succeed as an adult, but we cannot only depend on the schools for this. We need to find better ways to engage parents, and partner on teaching these important skills.
We have to get ahead of this and ensure that our students are learning the emerging technologies, finding ways to incorporate them into our curriculum.

As a mother, I understand every parent's desire to have their child succeed. As an artist, I can offer creative solutions. As a former teacher, I understand the complex challenges in today's classroom. As a businessperson with experience in commercial construction, I can provide help with budgets, tariffs, supply chain issues and other obstacles our construction projects may incur.
Muhlenberg School District is growing, and that brings new challenges. These challenges are physical, financial, and cultural. I am running to help meet the challenge to continue providing a quality education to every child. I believe my background can help insure every child receives this quality education in an environment where they feel safe, respected, and challenged to be their best.
Finances Transiency Political Climate Our resources are limited. We need to be creative, appeal to the state for our fare share of funding, and fight for federal funds. We need to be fiscally responsible while providing for our students needs. Teachers and staff need resources and training to help our new students adjust to our educational standards. 3 out of 4 of our students identify as a minority. The school board must establish a policy that welcomes, respects, and embraces all cultures.
Students need competency in personal finance, civics, and daily problem solving. We should expand our Family & Consumer Science classes to include more use of technology in the home and a better understanding of citizen's rights and responsibilities. This would increase self confidence and encourage more personal responsibility in our graduates.
During Covid lockdown, we all learned the importance of Zoom. Distance learning provides an important resource when special circumstances prohibit in person learning. The rapid growth of AI technology presents educators with new opportunities and challenges. It is useful when used to educate and not as a substitute for in person learning or as a source for plagiarism. We must teach students how to use technology ethically and responsibly.
