I have engaged through work with other TMM's in some of the important issues facing Brookline such as compliance the MBTA CA Act. As well, in my roll as TMM I have always been available to the residents of Brookline to listen on any issue and give my honest thoughts.

To assure that the residents of our Precinct are kept informed of important Town issues that may affect them, such as upcoming Town Meeting Articles or a proposed real estate development that may affect their specific neighborhood. For example, TMM's often get calls from residents asking about proposed hearings before the Town. I served on the Negotiation Committee that reviewed the proposed plans of the developer who purchased Newbury College and who was seeking approval to build a large senior housing complex. That enabled the Committee to negotiate the location and size of the proposed development. It also enabled me to communicate back to the residents who lived in the general area and who shared their concerns with me.

We need to work towards a more affordable Town of Brookline for all its residents. We need to balance all the competing priorities in order to achieve this goal of affordability. Transparency in our government is critical. Decisions made by elected officials need to support this transparency so that residents are fully aware of what is happening now and what to expect in the future. This is especially important for decisions that have financial implications. The more we all participate, the better it is for our town.

My responsibility to my precinct is to represent the residents concern for the effect of rising taxes for both renters & homeowners as well as town debt. It will also be my responsibility to insure that all precinct residents know that I'm available to hear their concerns about any issue related either to the Town in general or precinct 14 in particular. I plan to provide my phone & email contacts and prepare a precinct newsletter.
