I have lived in Brookline since 1960 and been a member of Town meeting since the late 1990s.I have also been the president of our Aspinwall Hill Neighborhood Association. We have not held meetings since the pandemic but need to get back to them.
Harry Friedman is very good at getting out notices to the neighborhood and we need to reinstate meetings.

I am a current Town Meeting Member in P12. I am married and the father of three children, ages 12 (Runkle), 17 (BHS) & 19. I am originally from the Midwest, and worked in Asia for many years, where I met my wife, Helen. In 2019 our family relocated to Brookline, choosing this Town for its reputation for strong public schools, proximity to Boston via the T, the multi-cultural makeup of the Town, and an environment that allowed for youth sports, hiking, biking and exploring. I am a Partner in management consulting with KPMG, where I currently lead the Life Sciences team in New England. I have a BA from Kansas University and a MA from Johns Hopkins University. I previously worked in the US Senate, at the OECD in Paris, and for Sprint.
In my first term, I sought to represent the views of P12 residents by voting for measures that balanced financial limits and service/infrastructure improvements. In the near future, it appears likely that the Town will face critical budgetary shortfalls that may impact the Town's future. We must do a better job of moderating improvements on key public structures, such as schools. The recent rise in residential tax rates paid by P12 homeowners is not sustainable. We must continue zoning reforms to make the Town a more vibrant commercial area with a stronger commercial tax base for revenue generation. Enhancing environmental sustainability will be important too. I gain perspective from residents through coffees, calls and local forums.

A.B. Colby College magna cum laude; J.D. Boston Univ. School of Law cum laude & Masters of Law in Taxation. Phi Beta Kappa. Former practicing attorney. Currently CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. Former president of Town Meeting Members Assn., as well as former recording secretary and current corresponding secretary. Treasurer Aspinwall Hill Neighborhood Assn. Vice chairman of the Town’s Advisory Committee. Town meeting member since 2002.
I listen to a great deal of debate on all issues. I hear these debates at Advisory Committee subcommittees on which I sit, at the full Advisory Committee, and once again at Town Meeting. I also hear from my constituents. Their opinions bear weight. I welcome them. The responsibility I owe my precinct is to listen to debates and opinions and then take a position using my best judgment. I fail both my precinct and myself if I do any less.

My votes on Advisory subcommittees, at the full Advisory Committee, and at Town Meeting are both on tape and reported. I am happy to sit down and discuss Town matters with voters, to receive their telephone calls, and to answer their e-mails. My telephone number, address, and e-mail address are all public

Incumbent TMM for Pct 12 for many years. I've served on the School Committee; the Advisory Committee (Chair of Public Safety and Planning and Regulation Subcommittees) and served as an Assistant Town Moderator. I'm a Trial Lawyer and Brookline Homeowner. I'm also an Elected Member of the Brookline Democratic Town Committee.
I have a responsibility to keep informed on the important issues facing our town, such as keeping our schools first rate, providing necessary services and balancing the tough trade offs between affordable housing, open space and historic preservation, while listening to constituent concerns and being approachable and carefully considering all points of view.

I’m an engineer and like to consider how subtle changes improve systems. That’s led me to track voting reforms and support progressive local politics in the Democratic cities I’ve lived in. I moved to Brookline in 2020 so my wife could work at Boston Children’s Hospital and to be near family. My eldest daughter enjoys her BEEP class and is starting in Brookline Public Schools in the fall. I was asked to run by a representative of Brookline For Everyone, and I’m endorsed by them.
I want to be open with my votes, offering transparency before and after the fact. I’ll provide information about how I vote, how to give input on upcoming votes, and what I think about the issues that lead me to vote that way. I’ve started writing about each of the Articles on https://townmeetingmember.blogspot.com/, and I’d welcome the input of constituents or members of our community.

I am a 25+ year residents of Aspinwall Hill. I love walking the neighborhood streets, visiting the businesses of Washington Square, and meeting friends at our local restaurants.

I am a product of public schools and forever grateful to those teachers: grades 1-12 through my bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. I also hold a master's degree in Leadership from Lesley University.

I teach leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and serve as Associate Director of the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative at Harvard. I also teach at MIT, UMass Medical Center, and other institutions as well as speak around the world.
My responsibility is to attend first to the issues that directly affect my precinct and to represent its interests in deliberations and votes. Second is to represent the pricinct's interests on townwide issues.

Even before deciding to run for Town Meeting, I would read all warrant articles and email my contacts in the neighborhood to ensure that they were aware of them. The emails were educational more than advocacy. I also sent my opinions on each article to my TM members. If elected, I will continue and expand this practice to all who opt-in to receive those emails.

I will have a website with a contact form and a dedicated TM email for constituent inquiries. I will attend relevant public events whenever possible.

I am teacher in Chelsea, MA, and have rented in Brookline since 2014. I grew up in West Hartford, CT, studied English at College of the Holy Cross, and then began my teaching career in Manhattan. I moved to Brookline when I began pursuing my master's degree at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. When I graduated in 2015, I began teaching 5th grade English at Excel Academy Charter School in Chelsea. My students' intellectual development is not just my job but my civic duty. I work to instill community values in my students, and running for town meeting is a way of leading by example. I encourage them to advocate for themselves; I've been a renting resident of Brookline for nearly a decade, and I am eager to advocate for our interests.
Renters are underrepresented on Town Meeting, although we are an essential part of the vibrance of our town. My responsibility to our precinct is to make sure that I study and deliberate on all warrant articles so that I vote in a way that is best for all residents of the precinct Town meeting members need to vote so that our town is an inclusive and accessible space. As a member of town meeting, listening to constituents is essential, which means listening to my neighbors ideas and concerns, responding to email, and sharing and soliciting ideas from my neighbors and constituents. I currently email my representatives regarding upcoming warrant articles, and I look forward to hearing from constituents as a town meeting member if elected.

My wife and I have lived in Brookline for over four years. We rented in Coolidge Corner and Brookline Village until we bought a unit in Aspinwall Hill, and we love the neighborhood! We are frequents at Schick Park with our dog Skyy, and sometimes with a foster dog. I also enjoy running and competing in marathons, and have logged many miles around Brookline.

I was inspired to run after Brookline came into meaningful compliance with the MBTA- Communities Act. I believe that we can make Brookline a more affordable and equitable place to live. Brookline is a charming town with robust social services; creating an inviting environment that welcomes new neighbors will only strengthen our community and the things we love about it.
Town Meeting is a representative body, and the voice of the voter should be echoed by their Town Meeting members. I will engage with my constituents how and where I can- whether on my campaign website, via email, or at the dog park- so that I can listen to their concerns and act on them in Town Meeting.

For those who do not closely follow local politics, it can be difficult to know what's going on, or even who represents you. I am hoping, as part of my campaign, to raise awareness of what's going on in Brookline to more folks in our precinct. There are tons of hotly contested races town-wide, and I hope to drive engagement in our precinct to have new voices heard on election day.

I have had the privilege of living in Brookline since 2013 with my husband. I am a practicing Orthodontist in Newton Centre and mom to three young children. I have always valued giving back to my community--I made time to serve as BEEP PTO president while my children attended BEEP and then the Soule PTO president.
I find value in having new and diverse minds and input in our community leadership. My neighbors have expressed continued concerns about high costs of housing and frustration at the lack of change. My goal is to be available, to listen and to advocate for progress. My children benefit from the public schools of Brookline and I would continue to advocate for our public school system.

I am endorsed by the Brookline Equity Coalition and Brookline for Everyone.
