I have spent the past 45 years in public health teaching, research and practice. I am running because public health is my life and passion, silently improving the lives of so many. As current Chair, and 18-year member of the Wellesley BOH, I have gained great appreciation and admiration for the knowledgeable, caring and hardworking Health Department staff who are truly “unsung heroes” of our community. My priorities are to ensure that the Health Department not only has the resources and leadership to fulfill its mandatory regulatory obligations in environmental health and disease prevention, but also to improve mental and social health while working closely and in collaborative partnerships with our Wellesley Police, Schools, town departments, neighboring towns, hospitals and clinics.
