Address policy that is hurting everyone. People are hurting financially, physically, mentally, mentally and emotionally. It's time to come up with a solution with the help of the people to fix the problem. If we a people come together on one accord it's nothing we can't do.
There are many issues in Wisconsin and no of them are greater than the other because they are all intertwined. Everyone is fighting their own battle. What I would like to do is create unity within the community and pull our resources together and work as a team. We all are one.
Legally it can only be done once, every ten years. The problem with redistricting is it's done with malicioucs intent. When policy and laws are made it should be created with harmony with the people, nature and the constitution.
Continue to promote recycling, create neighborhood clean up programs, create farms and farmer markets in the urban areas to raise the consciousness of the people.
We need to increase the pay for the teachers. They are over worked and underpaid. Get parents involved in education. It takes a village to raise a child. I will make sure the monies are distributed in the right place and EVERYONE will be held accountable form the students, parents, administration and myself.

My priorities as State Representative for Dist. 18 are to advocate for state resources to directly benefit WI people, their neighborhoods, and schools. As an Alderperson I see how the State creates the conditions for tough financial choices. My perspective is from the street level-- if policy doesn't work for the people, neighborhoods & schools, it doesn't work for me. I am a strong advocate for women's rights and to all people's rights to bodily autonomy. I want to restore rights to abortion care and to go further so that healthcare in WI serves the people's needs- including transgender kids and aduts. We need to trust people & their doctors to make decisions. Expansion of Badgercare is a priority. I will advocate for expanded services for the elderly, more quality childcare, and for resources for people with disabilities and their caregivers & families.
Wisconsin, like the US, has a shortage of housing units that working people, low income people and people on fixed incomes can afford. I support policies that offer resources for municipalities to plan for and execute development that grows housing stock in a way that also meets pressing community needs. Projects from the small scale home-repairs & adaptations for seniors and people with disabilities as well as larger scale affordable-rate rental/condo developments all have a place. Cooperation between developers and communities/municipalities is essential for smart growth and should be supported by State policies. Sustainable buildings and renewable energy use should also be advanced by the State.
Wisconsin should learn from our past experience with gerrymandering to create a non-partisan map-building process that uses data driven strategies that value political competitiveness, honor diversity, and yield a body of representatives that speaks for the people of WI.
I fully support Wisconsin's Clean Energy Plan including the goals for 100% carbon-free electricity by 2050 and adherence to the 2015 Paris accords. The efforts to acheive these goals need attention, planning and resources to flow from the State to county and municipal levels in order to ensure that the operations of government adapt to efficient technologies (such as installation of LED streetlights) and shift to renewable energy. Efforts in Milwaukee County, Wauwatosa, West Allis and other municipalities are promising as we make necessary changes to reduce carbon emissions.
Current WI policy forces the responsibility for increasing taxes to meet critical operations and capital needs to the local level while failing to release public funds back to municipalities and schools. Local school boards, county leaders and city councils face structural deficits as a result of State level policies. I will work with my colleagues to retool State rules regarding tax authority and distribution of public funds. In the short term, allocation of surplus funds to school districts based on need would provide immediate relief.
