Personal Pronouns He/Him
My purpose in running is to offer my experience of four terms in the state assembly to demonstrate that governing does not have to be continual conflict. There can be times when compromise is necessary. And even if compromise is not attained the response need not always be negative partisanship. Good public policy is best made with respect and interpersonal relationships across the aisle.

I have public policymaking experience at the city, county, and state levels of government. I will use my experience for the best for my constituents and the people of this state.
Affordability of rental units and the purchase of single-family homes. When North Dakota found it necessary to set up its own state-operated banking system it did and it continues serving the public good to this day. And when Wisconsin found the insurance industry filled with fraud it set up the Wisconsin Insurance Fund.

Today our citizens are having difficulty finding basic housing. It is time the state gets creative and move forward on its own with the establishment of resources that work for our citizens. If that means lending, building and rehab partnership programs let's begin talking about options.
Other states have set up nonpartisan methods of redistricting. This is not a new and novel idea. Officeholders should not choose their own constituents. It is time for the citizens of Wisconsin to be freed of the threat of gerrymandering once and for all. A nonpartisan commission tasked with offering a solution needs to be authorized. That commission also needs to have the power to act.
Climate change is real and we as a state government must acknowledge both the challenges and the solutions. A review of environmental policy changes over the last thirty years needs to occur. High-capacity wells need to be regulated again. Shoreland zoning laws that were changed to prevent local units of government from acting in their own self-interest need to be eliminated. Our waste stream must be reduced and local solutions need to be considered.

Policy at all levels must address our future needs. We no longer have the time to be stuck in the past.
The systematic destruction of our public schools through private school vouchers must be addressed. The state should cap the amount of money going to support private schools and begin a systematic reduction in public monies going to private schools.
