As a State Representative and longtime advocate who has served as an elected leader in Milwaukee for many years, I focus on making sure families have the resources they need to thrive, starting with strong public schools that support students and teachers and prepare young people for the future. I work to expand real opportunities for youth through college pathways, job training, and access to good-paying work. I prioritize affordable housing so working families and seniors can stay in their homes and remain rooted in their communities, and I pay close attention to the rising cost of living by supporting efforts that help people keep up with everyday needs like food, utilities, and healthcare. I stay present in the community and make myself
The most pressing housing issue in Wisconsin is the lack of affordable, safe housing for working families, seniors, and young adults. Rising rents and housing costs are outpacing wages, forcing many residents to make difficult choices between housing and other necessities. I support increasing investments in affordable housing development, expanding homeownership opportunities, strengthening tenant protections, and providing resources to prevent homelessness. Wisconsin has to work with local governments, nonprofits, and developers to make sure every resident has access to stable housing they can afford.
Wisconsin voters deserve a transparent and fair redistricting process that prioritizes communities rather than political advantage. I support an independent, nonpartisan redistricting process with significant public input and clear standards that protect voting rights and keep communities of interest together. The process should be open, accessible, and accountable so voters can have confidence that electoral maps reflect the people in the districts and not partisan interests.
Every child deserves a strong public education and the support they need to succeed, including and especially students with disabilities. I support increasing funding for public schools, strengthening special education services, and making sure schools have the staff, training, and resources to meet each student where they are. I worked for many years in special education, and this work is near and dear to my heart. I have seen how the right support can change a student’s path, and I remain committed to making sure students with disabilities are fully included, properly supported, and given real opportunities to thrive.
Large projects can create jobs and economic growth, but they must also be responsible neighbors. I support strong environmental protections, public transparency, and opportunities for community input before major projects move forward. We must protect our air, water, and natural resources while ensuring taxpayers are not left covering unexpected costs. Economic development should benefit communities without putting public health or the environment at risk.
