Affordable and accessible housing for all residents. My experience as a county supervisor has provided me with a deep understanding of the housing challenges facing our community, and I have successfully worked on initiatives to improve housing conditions and availability.

Affordable quality housing is one of several pressing issues we must address. Reforming project-based housing programs, implementing focused rent tax credits, and removing barriers to homeownership are crucial steps. In March 2023-24, rent in Milwaukee and across Wisconsin increased by over 6 percent, following a 5 percent increase in the two previous years. To tackle this, my team and I have developed a five-year housing plan aimed at providing residents with opportunities for homeownership, increasing community engagement, and creating robust neighborhood support systems. As a lead sponsor of a city/county housing subcommittee, which includes community members, landlords, and leaders, we have collaboratively addressed the housing crisis in Wisconsin.

Key policies I support include:

Right to Counsel, Supportive Housing, Neighborhood Associations. These initiatives are designed to stabilize housing costs, empower residents, and build stronger, more resilient communities.
I will hold informational sessions across the state by collaborating with colleagues to educate communities on the census process and its impact on redistricting. These sessions will highlight the importance of participation and how census data affects the creation of electoral maps. How and where districts are drawn can shape communities' ability to elect the representatives of their choice. Districts must be made as equal in population as practicable so that communities have equal access to political. Implementing a process for remediation. Protecting communities of color with the Voting Rights Act. It is no secret that ,For more than a decade, Wisconsinites suffered under unfair and unconstitutional state legislative maps that essentially guaranteed one-party control of the Legislature. As a state Rep ensuring Policies and procedures are in place will be a priority.
I will support policies that ensure the state preserves and manages public land effectively. This includes maintaining our forests, parks, and natural resources for future generations. I will stay in communication with organizations dedicated to clean, green, and sustainable advocacy, leveraging their expertise and grassroots efforts to promote environmental stewardship. Additionally, I will continue to support Governor Evers' clean energy plan, which aims to transition Wisconsin to renewable energy sources, reduce carbon emissions, and promote energy efficiency. By working together with environmental groups, community leaders, and policymakers, we can create a sustainable future that benefits both our economy and our environment.
In the words of the great Nelson Mandela, "Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world." Ensuring that every student has access to quality education, regardless of their zip code, is paramount. Investing in our children from pre-K onward strengthens their skill sets, development, learning environments, and our communities. Quality education is the cornerstone of a thriving society, and it is our duty to provide equitable opportunities for all students to succeed. Additionally, special education funding should be reimbursed at a minimum of 90 percent to provide the necessary resources and support for students with disabilities. This will ensure that they receive the individualized attention and services they need to thrive academically and socially. By fully supporting special education, we can create an inclusive environment where every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our commitment to education must be unwavering! It shapes the future!
