I will support fully funded public education. I will work to phase out voucher funding. In combination, these actions will reduce property taxes and eliminate the need for school funding referenda. I have a plan for state funded childcare that includes income-based repayment by the wealthiest families. I want to establish rural health care and regional mental health care facilities as part of my focus on Rural Revitalization. I want to increase funding for Farm to School and Wisconsin Foundation for Rural Housing. Rural higher education must be strengthened and businesses incentivized to locate in small towns. Ultimately, revitalization requires attracting people to the country to engage in the many forms of farming.
Accepting the Medicaid expansion, may still be a viable option to assisting rural clinics and hospitals. However, more needs to be done to make health care available and affordable. Providing a public option in Badger Care would help the affordability portion. Incentivizing health care providers and professionals to locate in health care deserts could initiate the process. However, a viable model of available and affordable health care is required for the long term. Legislation that protects the right to reproductive health care, including abortion, and invitro fertilization is a necessary part of planning for complete, statewide health care.
Our public school educators are dedicated to serving the students in their care. The State must fully fund our public schools, including special education in order for them to thrive. Legislation is also required to increase the Medicaid funding to schools to 100% of the federal allocation. I would support these efforts.
Legislation is required to create a nonpartisan commission that would draw district maps. I would welcome the process of studying and proposing the best composition, duration, and scope of authority option.
Protecting our environment, health, property values and household budgets from potential or perceived threats have both local and statewide regulatory concerns. Overreach by the State, either by overregulation or by appeasement, can create local unrest. The legislature may be able to assign zoning regulation over unincorporated townships or other unzoned areas as an initial protection from unrestricted development. Once a zoning permit is requested by a developer, the State could refer the application to the township for local consideration, while retaining control over environment and health issues. Strict adherence to environmental and health standards, would require meaningful involvement of the Department of Natural Resources.

Restore Prove it First mining law. It is not the size of the Agricultural projects, It is passing laws that encourage them to be good neighbors. Data centers should be off the grid. Using a lot of electricity could raise rates for everyone, even in other states.
