I'm dedicated to advocating for community-focused, family friendly policies that allow everyone living our in our communities to thrive. Childcare affordability and accessibility, the state of our public schools, protecting our soil, water, and air, and making healthcare more accessible and affordable are my priorities.

Having been an educator and teacher, I've learned valuable lessons on what it means to be flexible, innovative, communicative, and effective in my classroom and my home. My pragmatic, organized approach is well-known and respected as I understand what good communication and effective compromise looks like.
The lack of affordable housing and the rise in housing costs are issues that must be addressed with bipartisan efforts, including an increase funding for affordable housing programs. By allocating more resources towards affordable housing initiatives, such as low-income housing tax credits and housing assistance programs, we can provide more opportunities for individuals and families to secure safe and stable housing options.

I'd like to look more at implementing inclusionary zoning policies or providing a percentage of units in new developments for affordable housing, or providing tax incentives for developers who build affordable housing units.

I would also explore policies that help first-time homebuyers access homeownership opportunities. This can include providing down payment assistance programs, expanding access to low-interest mortgage loans and offering financial education and counseling services to help individuals navigate the homebuying process.
I believe that after ten years of egregiously gerrymandered maps, we are embarking on a new chapter of our future where we have an opportunity to obtain truly responsive representation. I'd support working in a bipartisan manner to ensure our maps and legislation are safeguarded against another affront on our maps. We need a permanent redistricting process - I'd support working toward a law that would require independent, nonpartisan redistricting reform so that no party could gerrymander our maps in the future.
1. PFAS Remediation: The Joint Finance Committee should release the funds allocated for PFAS remediation in the 2023-2025 biennial budget. I will advocate for clear, reasonable regulations on industries that release PFAS and push for comprehensive testing and cleanup efforts. I will support legislation to hold polluters accountable for the costs of contamination and fund research into PFAS alternatives to protect our water resources. 2. Wisconsin’s small farms are the backbone of our rural economy and heritage. I will work to push for policies that provide financial incentives for investment in and modernization of our family-owned farms in Wisconsin (including biodigesters in larger operations and incentivizing sustainable practices in the fields). 3. Renewable Energy is an economic opportunity that ought to be prioritized via legislation. I'll promote investment in wind, water, and soil efforts, especially in our rural communities to create jobs and stimulate local economies.
As a mother and educator, I am committed to ensuring that all students in our schools have access to the resources they need to succeed, including those living with disabilities. It's no secret that our schools have been chronically underfunded, and that districts are being asked to do more with less year after year.

I will work to secure adequate funding for our schools so that they can provide the necessary support services and accommodations for students, including those with disabilities, make necessary improvements to their buildings, retain quality teachers, and support students academically, socially, emotionally, and more.

By adequately investing in our schools and prioritizing the needs of all students, we can improve outcomes and create a more equitable education system for everyone.
