My professional background includes years of management and administrative experience requiring leadership, budgeting, problem-solving, accountability, and working with people from diverse backgrounds. Most importantly, my service on Kyle City Council has provided firsthand experience with municipal budgets, infrastructure, development, water issues, contracts, ordinances, and long-term planning. I have learned to ask tough questions, research the issues, listen to residents, and carefully consider the financial and long-term impacts of every decision.
My top priorities are fiscal responsibility and responsible growth. First, I will continue pushing for greater transparency and accountability in City spending, completing the forensic audit, controlling costs, and working to keep taxes, fees, and water rates affordable. Second, I will focus on infrastructure and responsible growth—ensuring our roads, water systems, sidewalks, parks, and public safety keep pace with development while holding developers accountable for their fair share of the impact of growth.
The City should follow the law while recognizing the appropriate roles of local, state, and federal government. Immigration enforcement is primarily a federal responsibility, and the City should not obstruct lawful enforcement actions. At the same time, our local resources should remain focused on public safety and providing essential services to Kyle residents. I support cooperation with lawful authorities when required while ensuring the City operates within its legal authority and treats everyone with dignity and respect.
Residents should always feel that their participation matters. Public input should be met with professionalism, respect, and the same standards regardless of whether Council agrees with the speaker. Council should listen without unnecessary interruption, provide clear and accessible opportunities to participate, and ensure concerns requiring follow-up are directed to the appropriate staff. Most importantly, residents deserve transparency about how and why decisions are ultimately made. Public input may not always determine the outcome, but it should always be heard, respected, and considered.
Growth should be welcomed only when it is responsible and sustainable. New residential, commercial, and data center development must be evaluated against roadway capacity, water supply, wastewater infrastructure, public safety, and impacts on existing neighborhoods. I support requiring developers to contribute their fair share toward needed infrastructure and carefully reviewing high-water and high-power uses before approval. Growth should strengthen Kyle’s tax base and economy without lowering the quality of life of the residents who are already here.
I am a Chemical Scientist spent 30 years in public and private laboratories making products that improve and transform lives and produce value to our economy. I have previous council leadership experience and connections with project managers, transportation agencies, and county officials. I am able to use my networking and flexibility to support Kyles infrastructure. Being on council we built high-performance teams to execute 8 major roads and deliver pipelines of water and wastewater. I have knowledge of development agreements and how the city works with zoning and planning for the future. In addition, I have small business background.
Main priority is to fix older roads and continue with the 2022 road bond to ensure projects are completed. District 2 was left out of this road bond and so it needs to be prioritized for better connectivity. Second priority is to ensure clean water and wastewater projects are completed on time and that Kyle has sustainable resources and placing right investments in long term water and wastewater treatment to protect our communities and environment.
The city should ensure that citizens and noncitizens rights are never violated and that enforcement is humane and with dignity. There is no reason why escalation or brutal tactics should come into our city. The city should have a legal position that federal agents should follow the constitution and remove masks and have identification on vehicles. The city should have an agreement that if citizens or non citizens are detained and arrested, that someone should be notified to ensure kids or pets are not left at home for days without adults. As a city leaders must stand up and protect the most vulnerable from abuse and cruelty.
Yes, there should be a policy that no retaliation or intimidation or bullying of any kind is allowed by city staff or leaders to residents that speak up. Our democracy everyone has a voice and we must hear from our community to know what they need and where we must improve. Over the years, Ive seen change happens from water rates, pride events, support for nonprofits, domestic violence, animal cruelty, back to school community events that had a positive impact on our city because people where courageous to come and speak to council and I encourage and support that.
We need more public information on data centers and how much water they use as well as pollution they will create. Many reports show they don't create many jobs, and the tax support is not enough for cities. So, I would need to see more benefits before I could approve a data center. Kyle is experiencing years of drought so we must be careful in approving high water use commercial development. Residents need to come first when it comes to water and so that's why we invested in securing more water sources and water recovery. Our communities need safe clean water for our homes and foundations and our children, animals, and farms are priority.
