Chippewa County and the greater Chippewa Valley has recently been abandoned by heath care providers with Prevea and HSHS St. Joseph choosing to close their doors. first the county clearly needs to understand these two heath care providers decision making process. Understanding why they need to leave is an important first step. Second, based on that understanding, the County will need to see were they can invest to recruit new heath care providers in the region. This likely means we will need to work with the communities within the county (Bloomer, Cornell, New Auburn etc) to understand their needs.

While I appreciate Mayo clinic as a world class heath care system, they are not right for everyone. Secondly I do not want to support them becoming a health care monopoly in the region.
Clean Water, one of Chippewa County's most valuable resources will always be an issue. Making sure we manage invasive species, farm run off, mine drainage or other inputs into the system will be important. Maintaining clean water will be our most valuable asset long into the future. Maintaining this asset is important for tourism, economic development and general health of the environment.
Economic development. This is constant. Making sure the interests of the county and its residents have access to a thriving economy with successful businesses. Availability of heath care will play a significant role in attracting new business as well as retaining the ones we have currently. We need to find vibrant answers to the health care crisis, and economic development will play an important role in this solution and ensure a resilient local economy.
Healthcare and clean water will be my two top priorities in this next term. I will address both of these from an economic development perspective. I will also be addressing the clean water issue through the land conservation and forest management committee
