Protecting the environment: preserving arable land, protecting clean water, protecting natural resources.
Illicit drug use and drug overdose deaths.
The danger that political polarization in the country may break down the cooperative spirit in local government.
My main concern is that county departments are adequately funded to do their jobs well and to find satisfaction in their work and to be confident that they have the resources and support to do their work well. My other concern is that the state more adequately fund mandates whose financing has fallen too much on counties.
