Safe & Quality education: We need to fully and equitably fund our public schools and invest in our young people, educators, and school infrastructure. Right now, we spend nearly double the amount of money to incarcerate individuals than we spend on students.
Living Wage: We need to raise the drastically low minimum wage to a living wage so our communities can thrive and not just survive.
Housing is a human right: We need to create more access to affordable housing while supporting and funding initiatives like the Whole Homes Repairs that will greatly impact homeowners in my district. This will bring jobs to our communities and allow us to stay warm, safe, and dry in homes for generations to come.
We need to end voter suppression efforts like voter ID laws. We should expand language access on the ballot to more than is required by law. We should make Election Day a federal holiday to expand access to voting. We should also extend the voter registration deadline and allow same day registration.
I support legislation that makes school funding fair and equitable and provides funding to repair school facilities across the State and in Philadelphia (mold, lead, air quality).
With reproductive rights and abortion access under attack across the country, Pennsylvania must continue to be a beacon of hope for those seeking abortion and reproductive health services. We must find ways to grant free access to high quality, trauma informed, and culturally competent reproductive health and abortion services for working class communities across our commonwealth.
