Over the past nine years, I have had the privilege of representing Mendham Borough on the West Morris Regional board. I am running for another term because of my commitment to the students, families, and educators who make our schools exceptional. I have personally witnessed the tremendous educational and growth opportunities afforded by both WM Mendham and WM Central -- through my wife who served as WMM’s media specialist for 27 years, our two children and five grandchildren who are WMR graduates, and through my board experiences.
I am proud of the work we have done together—board members, administrators, and educators: our schools are rated among the best in both the state and the nation; our teachers are very professional and highly motivated; our physical plant is in great shape; and our budgets are fiscally responsible. These accomplishments did not happen by accident; they are the result of thoughtful planning, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence.
I bring experience, integrity, and respect for diverse perspectives; I want to continue building on our successes and help ensure that our schools remain places where every student can grow and succeed.
I bring nine years of service as Mendham Borough’s representative on the West Morris Regional High School Board and over 40 years of professional experience in the private sector. As a mid-level executive with a Fortune 100 company for 28 years, and later with a related firm for 12 years, I led diverse teams in software development, international sales, and multi-billion-dollar telecom proposals to U.S. government agencies. These demanding projects required clear problem-solving, teamwork, and consensus building—skills that translate directly to effective board leadership. My career taught me how to manage resources, balance competing priorities, and build collaboration among people with different perspectives. On the board, I apply these same strengths to support sound policies, responsible budgets, and a positive environment for teachers and students.
Balance means respecting all stakeholders—teachers, students, and taxpayers—while making decisions free of personal or political agendas. We retain great teachers by treating them as trusted professionals, providing safe facilities, fair contracts, and the resources and training they need to succeed. Quality education follows when motivated teachers are supported by strong leadership, sound policies, and budgets that prioritize student growth and achievement. Taxpayers benefit when spending is carefully managed, facilities are maintained, and student performance strengthens our community and property values. By focusing on professionalism, accountability, and fiscal responsibility, the West Morris Regional High School District can achieve lasting balance between retention of good staff, delivery of excellent education to students, and concerns of taxpayers.
The West Morris Regional High School District offers an impressive curriculum that supports all levels of achievement, including AP and IB programs, vocational and dual-enrollment opportunities, and ASPIRE and internship pathways for students with special needs. These are complemented by strong offerings in athletics, arts, and extracurricular activities. Building on these strengths, I would encourage the district to expand opportunities beyond the traditional college track by promoting skilled trades, technical certifications, and entrepreneurship. Strengthening partnerships with community colleges and technical schools can further broaden access and provide students with practical, career-ready options. Equally important is fostering adaptability, resilience, and lifelong learning skills to help students thrive in an evolving workplace. By continuing to expand pathways and equipping students with both knowledge and flexibility, we can ensure our graduates are prepared for success in whatever future they choose.
