CoronerThe coroner serves a 4-year term and investigates deaths that occur under suspicious or unknown circumstances, or when not attended by a physician during his/her last illness and the cause of death cannot be certified by a physician. The coroner may authorize an autopsy to be performed to aid in accurately and scientifically determining the cause and manner of death.

Right now the most important challenges I am facing in Nez Perce County are Getting the Coroner's office Accredited and getting my investigators all certified. I will continue to work with my Commissioners and other County departments to get these things accomplished.
I am currently certified through the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators and am also currently on the Idaho Association of County Coroners Executive Board. We have been addressing several challenges recently that were brought to light from an Idaho Office of Performance Evaluations report that was published in 2024.
I will continue to engage with them the same way I always have. They can call or Stop into the office and I will always listen to concerns people have.
