Office Sought Nez Perce County Clerk-Auditor
Transparency and bucking the status quo. Transparency of the Clerks office could vastly improve. I come from a military background and held a Top Secret Security Clearance level. There is nothing in this capacity of the Clerk's office that handles anything of a special coded security nature. Rather, most every service they provide is public information and should have a reporting process that shows this office and its procedures are above the table. Examples would be budgets and their breakdown and distribution of funds and future projections based upon program initiatives of the three county commissioners. That county planners can count on and the public knows exactly where their money is going. This then is a public declaration to the County Residence of who is doing their job in the county government and who is not. I suspect this will then make future elections a far clearer choice who has their real interests in mind.
First is a sense of moral code that everything should be above board. There are the rules and there is also common sense. I strive to balance the two. Second is my background in military experience as a problem solver in the United States Air Force. There I was able to look at current processes, identify redundancies, recommend and implement efficiencies. And ensure compliance with regulations and OSHA Standards. Thirdly is my experience in the hospitality industry. I have worked at different levels in various companies. They were to be either managing sales, marketing divisions, or both. This is about getting the greatest mile out of the dollars in a budget. It also has honed my managerial abilities for small to medium size businesses to manage with positivity and effectiveness. And lastly is a love for the betterment of my hometown and its county. County residents deserve to rest easy knowing that their county government has their back.
Throughout the campaign I will reach out the traditional ways of discussions through social media, town hall meetings, Zoom meetings, and meet one on one. Most candidates discontinue such actions after being elected and would completely fill their time getting on every possible committee, but then allowing their constituents to be just the means to get them into office. The difference I bring is, that after being elected, I will continue to meet with folks in this county on their ground, their meeting place, or a coffee shop near them. The goal is to continue to listen, engage with questions, seek out grass root solutions to their problems and bring them into the process of governing like they have never had before. All things I gleaned from the citizens of Nez Perce County are going to be brought up to the collective of our three County Commissioners for deliberation. It just does not take me, my effort, and initiatives, it takes our community.
