I brings decades of hands-on experience having served approximately 26 years as a classroom teacher with Memphis Shelby County Schools.
Two issues facing this office are teacher retention and allocating resources responsibility to ensure student support. To address these issues I will advocate for meaningful investments in teacher pay and make sure taxpayers money is used responsibly, transparently and in ways that support students. I plan to ask tough questions , make tough decisions and hold people accountable.
I would establish a Parent Council for District One schools, made up of parents representing each school in the district. I will meet regularly with families on everything from school safety and transportation to curriculum

I am the only candidate in this district who has taught in the post‑pandemic era, and that experience matters. I’ve seen firsthand what our students, families, and educators need right now — not in theory, but in real classrooms facing real challenges.

I bring a mindset rooted in innovation, problem‑solving, and a commitment to implementing ideas that strengthen our system rather than preserve the status quo. My approach is shaped by lived experience, not outdated assumptions.
Two of the most pressing issues in our district are our students’ academic deficiencies and the need for stronger parental involvement. These challenges are deeply connected, and addressing them requires both urgency and intention. If elected, I will prioritize closing student learning gaps by championing approaches that produce measurable gains. Our students deserve targeted support, modern tools, and learning environments that meet them where they are while helping them reach their full potent
I plan to strengthen community engagement by hosting monthly town halls in every part of the district. These gatherings will give constituents a consistent space to voice their concerns, share ideas, and stay informed about the work being done on their behalf. Listening directly to the community is essential to effective leadership, and I am committed to making that dialogue a regular, accessible part of how we move forward together.
