US House District 17
U.S. Representatives are elected every two years (no term limits) to serve the voters of a specific Congressional District. A Representative must be at least 25 years old, a U.S. citizen for at least seven years, and a resident of the state he or she represents. Duties include passing laws, serving on committees, electing the leadership of the House of Representatives, and originating all matters of taxation. Representatives maintain offices in their home district and in Washington, D.C., where they provide extensive constituent services. The current salary (2018) for a member of the House is $174,000 per year.

Rapid Citizenships paths for DACA & Dreamers are needed. Rapid path to citizenship for vetted immigrants. Citizenship to existing immigrants who have no criminal records who have been here at least 5 years. Immigrants should be able to work once they enter the U.S. legally. The legal immigrants benefit our country. They should be allowed to become citizens, be able to legally work, and pay taxes.
Climate change is a financial threat due to increased frequency and severity of natural disasters. Sea level rises will make coastal homes uninhabitable and create businesses closures. Health care & medication cost will rise due to injuries, illnesses and adverse health issues due to decreased air quality. Insurance, medical, & utility cost increases will hurt people's pocketbooks. Government mitigations due to climate changes will increase spending of revenues from people's taxes. All of these will create a financial threat to Americans.

A national standard for voting rights is needed to ensure that citizens have equal access to voting for their political leaders. The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act needs passage in the Senate. This will prevent states with repetitive attempts to circumvent voters rights to continue the violations or their attempts to circumvent voting rights.

I support a federal law to codify access to reproductive rights for birth control, IVF, and abortion. Reproductive Rights is Healthcare. Reproductive decisions should be made by the patient, their family, and doctors. Politicians should have no right to dictate the healthcare of individuals.
