Our county services depend on funding that is controlled by the state legislature. When the state cut property taxes by 25% without first consulting counties and municipalities, it put them in a bind. Some of our state legislators feed into a narrative, which originated at a national level, that all government is wasteful, and all taxes are abusive. By amplifying national talking points that already blare from the internet, the television, the radio, they benefit politically. The problem is, when you drill down on the situation at the local level, the national narrative falls apart. This is Wyoming. We already have low taxes. We already have limited government. I see no evidence of a big pot of waste, fraud, and abuse in Natrona County. Over many decades, we have chosen carefully where to invest our public funds. Historically, we have taken good care of our infrastructure, like roads and bridges, we have invested in fire fighters and first responders, we have invested in education and activities for our children. We made this a nice place to live.
Transparency is a powerful tool. When the Natrona County Commission talks openly about the competing interests at play in difficult decisions, it helps citizens feel included, and helps them make informed decisions when they vote for federal, state, and local representatives. The purpose of government is to do the work that keeps our community running. Citizens have a right to know what elected officials are up to and why. We need cooperation between every level of government in order to take good care of the people’s business.
I come from a blue collar background, My work experience is in electrical work, particularly oil and gas. Every citizen matters. I don’t like to see people who work hard every day get run over or dismissed because they don’t own a lot of land or have a lot of money. I am running to represent people who work for a living, and for people who love this place.
The people of Natrona County are facing several significant challenges that affect their daily lives and future opportunities. Rising costs of living, including housing, utilities, and lack of resources place pressure on working families, seniors, and small business owners. At the same time, many residents are concerned about maintaining a strong local economy, supporting and maintaining skilled professionals in the workforce, and creating opportunities that encourage young people and families to stay and build their futures here.
Public safety, mental health resources, and access to essential county services also remain important concerns. As our community grows and changes, residents want assurance that county government is being fiscally responsible while continuing to invest in critical infrastructure, roads, public safety, and services that improve quality of life.
If elected, I will focus on practical, responsible, solutions focused approaches that protect taxpayers while strengthening our community. I believe county government should operate efficiently, transparently, and ethically with every taxpayer dollar.
I will support policies that encourage mental health resources, economic growth, attract new businesses, and strengthen existing workforce, and small business development in Natrona County. Diversifying our economy while protecting the industries that built Wyoming will help create long-term stability and opportunity.
I will work closely with local municipalities, community organizations, and state leaders to address public concerns. I also believe in prioritizing infrastructure maintenance and long-term planning so we can meet future needs of aging facilities without creating unnecessary financial burdens for taxpayers.
Most importantly, I will remain accessible, ethical, and accountable to the people of Natrona County. Good government practices begin with listening to residents and making informed decisions based on what is best for our community.
I bring a strong commitment to service, problem-solving, and fiscal responsibility. Throughout my career and community involvement, I have learned the importance of building relationships and finding solutions that bring diverse perspectives together.
I have been in local politics for 6 years: Council Member, Council President, Mayor of Evansville. I have sat on various non-profit boards. I have been a social worker for the last 20 years. I am a business owner in Natrona County. I hold a Bachelors of Psychology degree and a Masters of Social Work degree among various certifications.
I understand the challenges facing working families, business owners, and taxpayers. I have experienced many of those same concerns myself. My background has taught me how to manage resources responsibly, make difficult decisions, and stay focused on long-term results rather than short-term politics.
I believe effective leadership requires integrity, transparency, and a willingness to serve. I am prepared to work hard, ask tough questions, and make decisions that reflect the values of Natrona County residents. My goal is to help ensure that our county remains a safe, prosperous, and welcoming place for all current residents and future generations.
