This is problem that is likely to get worse rather than better. The national debt will continue to force the federal government in to quantitative easing which leads inevitably to inflation. The best solution to this dilemma is great transparency in government. We need to carefully consider the cost of rampant illegal immigration, the cots of onerous regulation, the cost of government agencies, the cost of war, and the cost of foreign aid. We must cut spending, deport illegal immigrants, audit all entitlement programs, reduce our spending on foreign aid. While only a partial solution, reducing spending may help to reduce the need for the quantitative easing that will lead to greater inflation and cost of housing, energy, healthcare, etc.
Conservation will not save the lake. It will require greater flows. A healthy forrest produces 20% more water than an unhealthy forest. The reason our forests are unhealthy in Utah is because of the disconnect between the federal government and the state legislature regarding jurisdiction over federal land including our forests. It is a fools errand to buy up water rights from farmers in order to let that water flow into the lake. All of that water will not equal the evaporaiton coming off the lake. I believe that the effort to buy up water shares is nothing more than large water interest holders using the state to buy out their competition. He who controls the water in the West controls everything.
Government is useful when it stays in its proper lane. I believe in the 9th and 10th amendments. The best way to ensure accountability in the federal government is for states to exercise the powers not delegated to the federal government. Most of the fraud, waste, and abuse is occurring inside federal entitlement programs that are unconstitutional to begin with. States should reject these programs rather than embrace the. I will encourage state legislatures to do just that.
America's empathy has been used against us by our foreign adversaries. In order to restore just immigration laws, we must first put a pause on programs that are being used to undermine this country. We need to audit the H!B visa program. We need to continue to deport those who are in the country illegally. We need to reject any amnesty programs until we have cleaned up the current system.
America is a republic. To protect, preserve, and enhance America's republic I will support 1. More transparency and bills that require transparency. 2. Honest elections and prosecuting those who try to manipulate and interfere with the voice of the people in our elections. Consent is the cornerstone of our republican form of government. Without fair elections, we do not have actual consent 3. Peace through strength - both economic and military strength. I believe that commerce between nations is vital and that military force should be used only to deal with nations who prove hostile to America and our crucial allies.
