Coolidge City Council {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

Mayor and City or Town Council In Arizona, most cities and towns operate under a council–manager form of government. The Mayor is the city or town’s chief elected official, providing leadership and policy direction. At the same time, a City or Town Manager, appointed by the Council, oversees daily operations and municipal staff. The Mayor typically presides over Council meetings, represents the municipality publicly, and serves as a voting member of the governing body. In most Arizona municipalities, the Mayor does not have independent veto authority; decisions are made collectively by the Council as defined by state law and local charters.The City or Town Council serves as the legislative and policymaking body. Council members adopt ordinances and resolutions, approve the annual budget and capital improvement plans, set local policy priorities, and oversee city operations. They also respond to constituent concerns through public meetings, correspondence, and coordination with city staff. Most Arizona cities and towns hold nonpartisan elections for Mayor and Council, and four-year terms are typical. Why You Should CareThe Mayor and City or Town Council make decisions that directly affect daily life in Arizona communities. They set priorities and allocate spending for essential local services, including police, fire, and emergency medical services; housing and homelessness programs; streets, transportation, water, sewer, and trash services; parks and recreation; zoning and development; and long-term infrastructure planning. These officials also represent their communities in regional planning efforts related to growth, transportation, water resources, and climate resilience. Voting in these local races gives residents a direct voice in how their city or town is governed and how public resources are used.For additional information:https://www.azcleanelections.gov/how-government-works/arizona-mayorhttps://www.azcleanelections.gov/how-government-works/arizona-city-and-town-council-members

Community Service For several years, I have actively served the Coolidge community through neighborhood engagement, community outreach, faith-based service, and volunteer leadership. My service has included organizing Neighborhood Watch activities, supporting families in need, participating in homeless outreach efforts, promoting civic education, and collaborating with residents, churches, schools, and community organizations to strengthen community connections and improve quality of life.
Education My education has come through a combination of professional training, certifications, continuing education, and life experience. As a young mother, I learned early the value of perseverance, self-education, and hard work—lessons that continue to guide me today. Throughout my career, I have participated in leadership courses, communication and interpersonal skills training, professional workshops, and continuing education opportunities. I have also earned certifications in holistic health coaching and mortgage processing and previously held a notary commission. I believe learning is a lifelong process. Whether through professional training, community involvement, volunteer leadership, or independent study, I am committed to continually growing, learning, and expanding my ability to serve others and my community effectively.
Economic growth should reflect the needs and values of the people who already call Coolidge home. I support thoughtful development that strengthens our local economy, creates quality jobs, and supports small businesses, while also being mindful of our long-term resources, especially water. As our city continues to grow, we must balance opportunity with responsible planning so future generations can thrive here as well. I believe in listening to residents, partnering with local businesses, and encouraging projects that enhance our quality of life rather than strain our infrastructure. Sustainable growth means investing in our community, protecting our resources, and making decisions with both today's families and tomorrow's residents in mind. My goal is to help build a strong, connected, and resilient Coolidge that honors its values while preparing for the future.
My top budget priority is ensuring that taxpayer dollars are used responsibly and transparently to meet the core needs of our community. Public safety should remain a priority, including support for our police, fire, and emergency services. I also believe maintaining and improving infrastructure, such as roads, parks, and public spaces, is essential to preserving quality of life and supporting future growth. I support investing in community programs that strengthen families, youth, and neighborhoods through partnerships and volunteer involvement whenever possible. As the city grows, we must carefully evaluate housing, infrastructure, and service needs to ensure resources are allocated wisely. I will advocate for balanced budgeting that prioritizes safety, accountability, long-term planning, and the well-being of our residents.
Transparency begins with trust. I believe residents deserve clear communication, accessible information, and opportunities to be heard before important decisions are made. As a council member, I would support open and respectful dialogue, encourage public participation, and make myself accessible to residents through community meetings, events, and direct communication. Ethical governance requires accountability, integrity, and a commitment to serving the public interest. I will approach every decision with fairness, transparency, and respect for the responsibilities entrusted to elected officials. Meaningful public participation means listening to diverse perspectives, considering community feedback, and ensuring residents feel informed and engaged in the future of Coolidge. Strong communities are built when government works alongside the people it serves.
Addressing shared challenges requires collaboration, communication, and a willingness to bring people together. Throughout my community involvement, I have worked alongside residents, local organizations, businesses, schools, churches, and city departments to find solutions and strengthen community connections. As a council member, I will continue building relationships with residents, regional partners, Pinal County, neighboring communities, and state leaders to address issues such as public safety, economic development, infrastructure, and community services. I believe the best solutions come from listening first, finding common ground, and working together toward shared goals. By fostering partnerships and encouraging community involvement, we can build a stronger, more connected Coolidge and prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
One of the most important issues facing Coolidge is managing growth responsibly while preserving the quality of life that makes our community special. Our city is growing rapidly, bringing new opportunities as well as challenges related to infrastructure, public safety, water resources, housing, and community services. As a council member, I would focus on responsible planning, maintaining and improving roads, parks, and public spaces, supporting public safety, and ensuring that growth is aligned with available resources. I also believe in strengthening community connections by listening to residents and encouraging meaningful public involvement in local decision-making. Throughout my community service, I have learned that the best solutions come from collaboration, transparency, and a genuine commitment to serving others. My goal is to help build a strong, safe, and connected Coolidge that is prepared for the future while honoring the values that make it home.
