Wyoming Governor
The Governor is the state's Chief Executive, elected to a 4-year term. They appoint the heads of most state agencies, are responsible for signing or vetoing bills, can issue executive orders to affect state operations, and coordinate with the federal government as necessary. Salary is $140,000 annually; term limit is eight years in a 16-year period through a Statute adopted in a 1992 referendum. Office and benefits are provided. To be elected, the candidate must be at least age 30, a U.S. citizen, a Wyoming resident at least five years, a qualified Wyoming voter, and cannot hold any other office.
