The ND State Senate consists of 47 members elected to 4-year terms with a limit of 2 terms (8 years). They are members of our state legislature, which creates our state laws and sets our state budget. The Legislative session, where bills (potential state laws) are introduced, occurs every other year in odd-numbered years starting in January, and the legislature meets for up to 80 days each session.
