As the current Juvenile Court Clerk for Memphis and Shelby County, I have prioritized comprehensive training, retraining, and cross-training for all staff and leadership; implemented a tracking system for legal jackets to reduce the time required to locate them and improve accountability. I have also introduced e-filing for petitions and motions and electronic payment for child support, fines, and fees.
I'm moving the office to be 90% paperless. It moves towards efficiency and better accountability.
As Juvenile Court Clerk, my role is primarily administrative rather than policy-making; however, I believe meaningful public input is essential to delivering efficient and responsive services. I currently create intentional opportunities for feedback and have a clear process for submitting concerns or suggestions. Our leadership TEAM has open-door policies for our staff, partners, attorneys, and the public we serve.
