I bring 13 years of experience as a senior technology executive and consultant, solving the most complex problems for some of the world's largest companies. I've managed large teams and huge, complex, multi-year budgets in my work at a Fortune 500 company. Unique for this office, I bring deep expertise in tech, including software development, datacenter management, and published research in AI. I have worked as an activist on the streets and an advocate in nonprofits and legislative chambers.
The primary issue facing the County Commission is addressing poverty in the most populous county in Tennessee. My poverty reduction plan includes investing in education while holding the school board accountable, building effective regional transit, creating lifelong learning programs, and building affordable housing.
The second issue is criminal justice reform. I want to reduce the jailed population by reducing poverty and enhancing reentry and pretrial services, as well as blunting ICE.
I will continue my monthly livestreams and add additional livestreams before and after every commission meeting so citizens can understand the stakes and why I voted as I did. I'll continue to maintain a strong social media presence including my Discord server for real-time engagement with citizens. Specialized policy councils will let citizens write policy I can champion. I will also hold monthly town halls around the district and regularly canvass to engage voters where they live.

I currently serve on the MSCS School Board, District 8. I have worked with the TN Dept. of Education as Sr. Director for Student & Family Supports Comprehensive Planning, the Office of Education with the Shelby County Mayor's office as a Public Policy Fellow, and 3rd-grade classroom teacher at Ross Elementary. Prior to my career in Shelby County, I have worked with the Office of the Illinois Senate President as Policy & Budget Analyst and in the Illinois Governor’s Office of Management & Budget.
Supporting families & adult education and training are the top two issues.
You cannot separate health from economic security. Affordable, high-quality childcare, funded universal pre-k, reducing evictions, and providing access to high-quality primary care. This is a system, and it has to be addressed as one.
A greater investment and rapid skills development for living-wage jobs. Our graduates should enter the workforce ready to not only work but thrive.
I would love to participate in forums & engagement activities, act as an ambassador, but also help draw out the ways all policies support women, families, and all citizens in Shelby County.
Regular town halls and office hours as well as virtual sessions specifically to help educators and staff in my efforts to strengthen schools. As a former teacher, I know the value of direct feedback, so I'll use surveys, email updates, and social media to stay connected.
