I've lived in Hamilton County since middle school—that's nearly 40 years of my life rooted right here.
I'm a proud Tyner public schools graduate. I raised my family here. My sons went to Hamilton County Schools. My grandson attends school here now.
This isn't just where I live—this is HOME. This is the community that shaped me, that I've invested in, and that I'm committed to serving whether I'm in office or not.
Hamilton County isn't just my residence. It's my roots.
The greatest challenge will be rebuilding trust between government and the communities that have been overlooked. Too many people in District 5—and across Hamilton County—feel like government doesn't see them, doesn't hear them, doesn't show up for them. Changing that requires more than policy. It requires:
- Showing up consistently—not just during campaigns, but every day, - Accessible government meeting times working people can attend, multiple ways to participate, - Following through—keeping promises and being accountable,- Real collaboration—between city and county, between commissioners, between government and community.
My qualifications aren't just on paper—they're lived. I've been a single mother who has raised two sons in Hamilton County Schools, one of whom is intellectually disabled. I've navigated systems that weren't built for families like mine. I know what it's like when government works—and when it fails the people who need it most.
I've spent my entire professional career in nonprofit and community development, working directly with individuals and families on the ground. I've helped people address housing, food security, healthcare access, economic stability. I don't theorize about these issues. I've worked in them, lived them, solved them. I'm currently the primary caregiver for my aunt. Caregiving isn't just something I advocate for—it's something I do every single day. I understand the weight families carry and what they need from government to support them. I've served on County Commission before (2018-2022). I know how government works. Most importantly: I show up!
