Special elections are worth exploring but should only be implemented if they can occur at a minimum cost to taxpayers, ideally by attaching them to an existing election such as the Presidential election. If special elections are implemented, one way to keep these costs down would be to only have a special general election and instead of a special primary, have the Central Committees nominate a candidate and allow unaffiliated candidates to file normally.
First, I would ensure that any candidates considered meet the statutory requirements to serve in the office (age, residency, party registration, etc). When making a decision on who to vote for, I will make sure that their policy's represent the GOP as that would be the party that the district elected. I will also weigh community involvement as that is a vital part of serving in local and state government. Finally, I will not vote for anyone who does not have the temperament to lead or legislate.
I believe that the Republican Party, especially locally, is the party of affordability, transparency, and public safety. I want to continue to work to spread this message in Baltimore County. States and local jurisdictions that are more politically competitive tend to be better represented as elected officials are held to results to win and don't just win a primary election and win the general because of party affiliation. I want to make the GOP more competitive in Baltimore County and Maryland.
I will evaluate the current community activity of any applicants to fill vacancies. If someone is involved in the community before being in office, then they are more likely to stay connected. Elected officials who have served on any sort of community board are better equipped to legislate as they have experience in building coalitions which can be translated into passing legislation. I will also take into account any constituent input during the vacancy process.

While special elections are worth considering, they should be prioritized only when taxpayer costs are minimized—ideally by aligning them with scheduled events like Presidential elections. To further reduce expenses, the process could skip special primaries; instead, Central Committees would nominate party candidates, while unaffiliated candidates would follow the standard filing procedures for a single special general election.
When filling a legislative vacancy, my first responsibility is verifying that candidates meet the strict constitutional requirements. Once an applicant clears that legal baseline during our public application and interview process, my focus shifts to their strategic value to the party and the district. I look for clear alignment with our party. Since our nominee will ultimately gain the advantage of incumbency, I will only vote for someone with the temperament to lead and be a legislator.
I want to serve on the Republican Central Committee because Maryland’s future requires a strong, organized party infrastructure. As the minority party, we must proactively recruit top candidates, build robust grassroots networks, and communicate our conservative principles. I want a hands-on role in vetting and supporting leaders who have the integrity and strategic readiness to win, helping build a sustainable coalition that brings common-sense governance and balance back to Annapolis.
I ensure my appointment decisions serve the community by prioritizing transparency and rigorous vetting. When filling a vacancy, I look beyond basic legal requirements to find candidates with proven integrity, deep community ties, and a strong grasp of local issues. I actively listen to constituent feedback and seek individuals who align with our core conservative principles while possessing the collaborative temperament needed to be an effective, immediate advocate for our district.
