DUTIES: The Republican Central Committee is responsible for leading and organizing the day-to-day operations of the local Republican Party. The Committee recommends candidates to the Governor to fill vacancies in state and local offices when a member of the party resigns or dies in office. County Central Committees work with the State Central Committee, which in turn works with the national party.TERM: Four years, no term limit.SALARY: None.HOW ELECTED: Republican Central Committee members are elected by registered party members. I think the current method is sufficient. I wouldn’t be opposed to mandating that the appointee not be a candidate for that office as well.
What are their goals? What are they seeking to accomplish. Are they trying to achieve something or make a point?
I want to make the Central Committee the gold standard for candidate recruitment and training in addition to campaign staff development .
I’m less interested in professional qualifications and more interested in the rationale. My guide post is what I believe a candidate brings to the position in terms of vision and capability.
