I support special elections for vacancies. Central Committees would limit their selection to a candidate who conforms to their agendas, which would not reflect the overall population.
A legislator must show commitment to the community, support plans for growth without corporate opportunism, and have personal integrity.
My party is growing in our community due to the efforts of the current committee, and I want to help in that effort. I have worked since 2016 with the Democratic Party in Cecil County and am proud of our efforts so far.
The Central Committee, through our outreach and sponsorship of both partisan and unaffiliated groups that serve our district, has deep roots and broad branches. We listen carefully to what these very committed groups need and want, and our candidates and appointments reflect that.

No. It is an unnecessary expense.
Years of public aervice, effectiveness of getting things done, and ability to work with those of the other party well.
After every election, volunteers part ways for a year and a half until the next election. I would like to keep voters and volunteers engaged all year every year to build on successes and work through challenges together.
By reviewing their public service record. If there is none, they can’t be the candidate. It’s that simple.
