DUTIES: The Clerk of the Circuit Court oversees the office that performs many administrative duties for the Circuit Court including the maintenance of court records. Other duties include recording of deeds and collecting taxes and fees based on property transactions, issuing licenses for fishing, hunting, sales of liquor and marriage. They also perform civil wedding ceremonies and process passport applications.SALARY: $112,000TERM: Four years, no term limit.HOW ELECTED: Elected countywide.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from West Virginia University, complemented by graduation from the Institute for Court Management (ICM) and recognition as an ICM Fellow through the National Center for State Courts (NCSC). With 32 years of dedicated service in the Circuit Court, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in court operations, administration, and leadership.
The Clerkâs Office is committed to improving efficiency while ensuring quality and timely service to the public. We focus on recruiting and training skilled staff, including cross-training to maintain flexibility and continuity. We closely monitor case progress and send timely notifications to prevent delays and keep cases on track. We use technology such as electronic filing systems and remote docket management tools to streamline processes and improve public access.
