Office Sought
Secretary of State
Phil McGrane is serving as Idaho’s 28th Secretary of State, taking office in 2023. A fourth-generation Idahoan, he has spent nearly two decades working in and around the state’s election system. His experience spans every level - from counting ballots and recruiting poll workers to training local officials and implementing statewide election policy. That hands-on background drives his commitment to secure, transparent, and accessible elections.
As Secretary of State, he works with county clerks in all 44 counties to maintain accurate voter rolls, expand transparency, and ensure elections are trusted.
I will continue strengthening Idaho’s election system by maintaining accurate voter rolls, supporting county clerks, and expanding transparency so voters can have confidence in every election. We don’t have to sacrifice access for security—Idaho can and should deliver both.
A top priority is advancing a statewide voter guide to provide clear, accessible information on candidates and issues. I will also continue equipping county clerks with the tools and resources they need, while improving efficiency, modernizing business services, and ensuring our elections remain accessible, secure, and trusted.
Maintaining public confidence in our elections is one of Idaho’s most important challenges. As misinformation grows and expectations for transparency increase, our elections must remain accurate, secure, and clearly understood.
Idaho is one of the fastest-growing states in the country, with many new residents unfamiliar with how our system works. Educating those voters—along with the next generation—is critical.
That’s why we’ve made voter education a priority, including revamping VoterIdaho.gov into a more user-friendly, one-stop resource for clear, reliable election information.
It has been an honor to serve as Idaho’s Secretary of State. I remain committed to protecting the integrity of our elections, strengthening transparency in government, and ensuring Idahoans can trust the process.
I’ve traveled to every corner of the state, working alongside county clerks and speaking with hundreds of groups about our elections. I’m especially proud of the dedicated election staff, poll workers, and volunteers who make this work possible.
As a fourth-generation Idahoan and a father of three, I care deeply about serving with integrity and ensuring our elections remain accurate, accessible, and trusted.
