There is one political party Primary election for this race: Republican. All Republican affiliated and unaffiliated voters will be eligible to cast a vote in this race. Unaffiliated voters will receive both DEM and REP ballots. Unaffiliated voters must return only ONE ballot. The Clerk and Recorder conducts elections, titles and registers vehicles, issues marriage licenses, records public documents, processes passport and liquor-license applications, and serves as clerk to the Board of County Commissioners. Term of office is four years.

I am running for County Clerk because of my dedication to Alamosa County and my earnest desire to see Alamosa County have the professional, efficient, and accountable office that it deserves. The Clerk is tasked with protecting and promoting public trust by the implementation of accurate, transparent and fair elections. It is important these duties are carried out with integrity, transparency and professionalism. My priorities include supporting fair, accessible elections, improved professionalism and customer service for residents, and to be a fierce protector of the accuracy and security of public records. My extensive experience managing budgets, grants, and employees make me an excellent choice for Alamosa County Clerk.

There are some great improvements that need to be made in the Alamosa County Clerkâs Office. From my perspective, lack of follow through, lack of attention to detail, and apathy toward the job is apparent to me. Professional standards in the workplace have eroded. I am a firm believer that a professional presence is essential to the integrity and credibility of an office and the the people it represents.
My priorities include fair, transparent & accessible elections, more accurate voter rolls, improved professionalism & customer service, and fierce protector of the accuracy and security of public records. I would integrate these priorities through staff and management training as well as encouragement and support for staff to excel in their jobs each and every day.
Election security is paramount and no one should ever feel threatened or intimidated by the voting process. Nor should anyone have to worry about the integrity of the election process. I support any measure that makes voting more accessible for a person who may have any type of barrier to legally voting. All individuals should be afforded the same American right to democracy regardless of disability or impairment.
I believe it is time for a change in the Alamosa Clerk's Office. The leadership over the last few years has been dismal and it is time for a fresh perspective and stronger leadership. It is time to expect higher standards and more out of our local government offices.
