VOTE411 Voter Guide

Presently, I am a Township Supervisor. I have gained valuable experience in the important basic services of policing, fire & medical service, roads, parks & trails. I have learned about water/sewer, garbage hauling, codes/enforcement and promoting quality of life for residents while being cost conscious. I have learned the ways of state and county government, working to increase support from our legislature through grants and funding. I am experienced in making judicious purchases and staffing decisions. I appreciate opposing ideas and seek citizen involvement. The Township has improved infrastructure, reduced debt and maintained our bond rating. There is more to do. I look forward to what comes next.

1)We need to keep a close eye on our bond rating, being prudent in taking on financial obligations. 2) Maintaining infrastructure is the ever-present challenge with roads, parks and trail systems, water systems, police, fire and emergency medical services. We need to be frugal and continue to look for funding sources to lessen the direct tax burden on our residents. 3) Another challenge is to maintain our small town feel; citizen engagement will continue to be key.

We need to balance careful spending with the provision of modern, quality services to all. The Board must not become complacent. We must stay involved in our communities and educate ourselves on what people love about the Township and what changes we could make. We must continue to staff prudently with expectations that our staff be well trained and welcoming and helpful to all. We must continue to plan proactively for our future so that residents can thrive here.
