Indiana can increase voter turnout by eliminating partisan gerrymandering: -- Appoint an independent redistricting commission that seeks public input. -- Establish clear nonpartisan criteria to draw voting districts. -- Follow legal standards, such as the Voting Rights Act, to prohibit discrimination.

Voter registration and turn-out can be increased by: -- Ballot initiatives/referendums to give people a direct say in their state. -- Allow people to vote by mail and expand the current narrow set of vote-by-mail criteria. -- Allow provisional ballots for same-day in-person voter registration. -- Launch a campaign to educate voters on the registration process. --Combat misinformation that leads people to believe their vote doesn't matter.

As an automotive safety analyst, I know accountability and transparency are paramount. Here are ways voters can count on me for both:

-- I like to get to the point and answer questions directly, clearly communicating expectations and goals in straightforward language. -- Make information widely available. User-friendly access to the legislative process is a must. -- Admit mistakes and learn from failures. -- Indiana's one-sided government has limited viewpoints, those of the GOP and the Special Interests funding them.

Hoosiers should not be expected to tolerate the current system where PACs write, pay for, and get bills passed that benefit their special interest agendas.
I will work to empower local governments by: -- providing greater autonomy to local leaders to make decisions best for their communities -- tax incentives for builders and homeowners who improve their properties -- streamlined building processes -- investments in housing initiatives for all-income levels -- incentives for rehabbing existing housing -- grants for infrastructure improvements that support new developments. I will ask local community leaders to share their concerns and work to remove roadblocks from their housing initiatives. Economic development thrives when there is optimal housing in the local community.
First and foremost, I will seek guidance from medical professionals and work to: -- Strengthen rural healthcare by incentivizing doctors to practice in rural areas -- Expand telehealth services to make access to specialists and mental healthcare easier -- Insist on transparency in healthcare pricing -- Prioritize substance abuse and mental health treatments -- Identify innovative delivery models to improve quality while controlling costs. We can fund these by leveraging public-private partnerships, attracting and retaining medical professionals with scholarships and training grants and supporting community-based health programs that are more efficient and lower costs.
