The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) are the individuals elected in 13 districts to represent specific areas of Miami-Dade County. The Commissioners set policy, pass legislation, and vote on the County Budget. Each Commissioner serves a 4-year term and has a limit of 2 consecutive terms. The elections are non-partisan and half of the Commission is up for election every two years.

After a very successful and lucrative career in Technology, I felt compelled to give back to the community by contributing to non-profit organizations and serving in public office. I've been on the Board of Directors of Camillus House for 25 years and Camillus Health Concern for 20 years as well as other non-profit/charities. After experiencing systemic corruption first-hand in local government, I decided to run for and was elected to the Palmetto Bay Village Council as Vice Mayor for 2 consecutive terms starting 2012. In private sector I started as an engineer in the tech sector and moved into management. Later I served as CEO and CFO of public and private companies which, combined with local government experience will help navigate the County Government through declining revenue after the Homestead exemption is voted into effect later this year. Our current Commissioners cannot seem to manage their budget effectively after 5 years of the largest revenue increases from real estate taxes in Dade County's history.
The most important issue facing local government will be fiscal responsibility and managing through the decreasing revenue base in 2027 and beyond. Second is traffic to which I, as District 8 Commissioner will work with the other South Dade elected officials to bring over 50,000 new jobs to create a reverse commute; i believe this is the only realistic short-term solution to South Dade's traffic problems. The third most important issue is clearly affordable housing; a problem that must be addressed with incenting development of affordable housing and work force housing. The county owns plenty of land to use as part of the incentive program that must be put in place.
