My family chose Willis ISD, and we're all-in: my son just started school here, my daughter follows in a couple years, and my wife teaches in the district. I work in IT for a state university system. I'm not running because something's broken - I'm running to add a current parent's perspective, professional experience, and zero conflicts of interest, vendor contracts, or business ties.
I've spent my career in public-sector technology - network engineering for a state university system, public safety IT director, and private-sector telecommunications. I've evaluated vendor contracts and major technology investments to ensure public dollars deliver real value. I bring those skills, plus the perspective of a current Willis ISD parent in a fast-growing district.
Communication. The district's improvement planning emphasizes intentional messaging, and growth makes that harder, as new families arrive every year without established connections. The board should ensure communication tools scale with enrollment and that input flows both ways. My technology background helps me ask whether those systems and investments are actually working.
My wife teaches in the district, so I see the job's daily reality at our kitchen table: workload, time lost to administrative tasks, and compensation in a competitive region. The board's levers are real - budgets that keep pay competitive, policies protecting teaching time, and genuinely seeking staff input before decisions, not after. (Per Texas law, I'd abstain from votes specific to her.)
Growth. Willis ISD adds students every year, and the district has responded well with new campuses and honest planning. But growth touches everything - facilities, staffing, budgets, infrastructure. I'll support long-range planning, disciplined budgeting, and technology built for where we're going. I work in large-scale infrastructure professionally and represent the families driving this growth.
Civics preparation happens in coursework, but also in practice: student leadership, debate, service, and seeing local government up close. The board should keep civics well-resourced, encourage programs where students practice democracy rather than just study it - and model it ourselves. For many residents, the school board is their most visible local government. Students are watching.
Tisa McCrorey is a lifelong member of the Willis community and a proud Willis ISD graduate. Her connection to the district spans every stage of life—as a student, former teacher, parent, volunteer, and community advocate. She has served on two PTO boards and volunteered on numerous campus and district committees, working with educators, administrators, and families.
I bring knowledge, firsthand experience, and integrity to serve students, families, and educators. As a former educator, I understand student needs and classroom challenges. My professional experience outside of education has strengthened my skills in communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and responsible decision-making.
Willis ISD has demonstrated that students and campuses can make meaningful progress, but there is still work to do. The Board should identify what’s working, learn from our highest-performing campuses, and ask: Which students are thriving, who needs more support, and how can we close the gaps? High expectations must be paired with resources and interventions needed for every student to succeed.
Teachers need meaningful support when navigating student behavioral, learning, and language needs. The Board should evaluate whether educators have the resources and support necessary to succeed. Retaining great teachers requires more than competitive pay—it means fostering a culture where educators feel respected, supported, and equipped to do their best work.
Willis ISD’s greatest challenge—and opportunity—will be managing rapid growth without allowing it to outpace academic quality, staffing, facilities, or community trust. Trustees must understand the financial and operational impact of growth and plan responsibly. The upcoming years are about more than managing growth; they’re about shaping the district WISD becomes.
WISD’s mission includes preparing students for productive, responsible citizenship. Civic education should help students understand how government works, how local decisions affect their lives, and how to participate in our democracy. Student success means preparing students for college, careers, and real life. The Board can ensure meaningful civic education remains part of that preparation.
Stefanie Hollins a proud Willis native and 2004 Willis High School alumni, a volleyball and basketball Ladykat Stefanie Hollins comes from generations of family and business owners, including Early’s Barbecue and Storage in Willis TX since 1973. As a mother of a Willis High School junior and football player, she is deeply invested in our students.
Stefanie’s professional background includes psychiatry healthcare, pharmaceutical insurance and life insurance, bringing business experience, leadership, and a passion for serving her community.
I’m your voice to bringing your concerns and support to the entire WISD and making sure every student has the support to succeed in and beyond the classroom. Building stronger communication and collaboration between families and educators. Championing by advocating for pathways to college, careers, trades, certifications, athletics and other opportunities.
The board can provide support for the teachers beyond the classroom serving as a liaison for the community and teachers building a stronger team working for the same goal the district, staff and the children within.
My belief is strong and unwavering by students in the classroom and beyond—on the field, court, and in competition. Locally and nationally there are many eyes on our small town. We want to continue and improve in any way possible and that begins at home and in the classroom.
