Planning Board

Five residents are elected to 5-year staggered terms with authority to control divisions of land, maintain and update the Zoning Bylaws and Zoning Map, make studies of the developmental needs of the Town and create a comprehensive plan for development; and review largescale projects with town-wide impact. The Board appoints a Planning Director who manages the daily operations of the department. The Board also appoints the Design Review Board. The Board meets twice monthly and at other times as required.

Why are you running for this office? What are your top priorities?

Relevant Experience 1. elected to and served on Town of Wellesley Planning Board 2003-2008; served on several committes
The Town has some significant land use, zoning, demographic trends and real estate development matters the next few years. The Town has agreed to participate in the MBTA Communities Act, allowing multifamily development as of right within 1/2 mile of transit stations. This is one example of the growing importance of sound planning, zoning reform and community engagement to increase production of apartments.

My goal to serve on the Planning Board is to contribute my 43 years of real estate experience, including 5 years on Planning Board from 2003-2008, to advance well planned and designed apartment and mixed use developments so young families can move to Wellesley and empty nesters can sell their homes and move into apartments or condos at a reasonable price point.
