For more than fifteen years, I have worked as a paralegal alongside attorneys in Dallas, assisting with legal matters, preparing and managing thousands of cases, navigating court procedures, and helping attorneys move cases toward approval and resolution. I have also had the opportunity to work alongside government officials and see firsthand the importance of accuracy, accountability, and public service. That experience has given me a deep understanding of how the legal system works, and just as importantly, where the role of a Justice of the Peace begins and ends. Service is my main goal.
As Justice of the Peace, I will be committed to following the law and the authority of the court, continuing to learn and stay informed about the laws and procedures that govern the office, making careful, impartial decisions based on the facts and the law, treating every person who comes before the court with dignity and respect, working toward a court that is organized, efficient, and responsive to every person. My fifteen years of experience have taught me that the legal system is not just about paperwork or procedures. It is about people and about serving every person in our district.
My goal is to bring balance to the courtroom, protecting property owner's lawful rights, while also making sure tenants receive the protections afforded to them under the law.
Getting each case resolved in a timely manner and reducing the case backlogs is necessary in order for a court to function properly. There are currently many case backlogs. My plan is to show up and be present for the people of this district. I will ensure the people's tax dollars are not being wasted and being put to use. I would work to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary delays while making sure cases are handled carefully and fairly. I would also prioritize clear communication and transparency so that residents understand court procedures, what's expected and the resources available
