The Kansas House of Representatives is the lower house of the legislature of the U.S. state of Kansas. Composed of 125 state representatives from districts with roughly equal populations of at least 19,000, its members are responsible for crafting and voting on legislation, helping to create a state budget, and legislative oversight over state agencies.

Personal Biography
After college, I served in the Navy (on submarines), then got out and entered seminary. I served mostly rural churches for 35 years, as well as a Navy Reserve Chaplain. When I retired, I moved to El Dorado to be close to our daughter with special needs. In retirement, I've written some books, been active in my church, Kiwanis, and for the first time got involved in politics. I have 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

• After living in small towns for most of his adult life, I also know the crucial need for affordable and accessible health care, including thriving hospitals.
Tax Reform. I think we need to shift some of the revenue from property taxes to income taxes, and add a third tier of tax rates.
Health Care. We need to pass Medicaid Expansion to protect Kansans and their hospitals.
Education. Special Ed needs to be fully funded.
The first step is to slow the process down. Not only do citizens deserve a chance to read the bills before they go to a vote, so do the legislators!
I think the voting system works fine. If anything we need to reduce the vitriol and support the poll workers who are doing a great job!
