Flooding: In the past two years, the long-studied plan Army Corps of Engineers plan is now in sight and has been augmented by additional grant funding. Additionally, we are strengthening local stormwater laws and continuing to work to find regional solutions. We also received a $6.6 million grant from NYS and seek to collaborate with our County, State and Federal Partners.

Affordable Housing is an issue throughout our region. We established a volunteer Affordable Housing Task Force to support our plan to create a Village Affordable Housing Plan.

Taxes: Mindful of the tax burden on residents, we made strides to control spending by adopting the first ever 5-year Capital Budget to prioritize and fund capital projects for flood mitigation, pedestrian safety, playgrounds and other recreational space. We have tightened procurement controls and created an office of auditor to make sure funds are disbursed properly.
