Vote for 1Illinois townships are required by law to perform three functions:General Assistance – Offer food, shelter or emergency relief for people in need until they become self-supporting or qualify for other forms of assistance.Property Assessment – The Township Assessor sets property values for all properties within the township.Road and Bridge Maintenance – Townships collectively maintain approximately 71,000 miles of Illinois roads. This represents more than half of the road miles in the state. The eight-member DuPage Township Board includes Supervisor, Clerk, Assessor, Collector, and four (4) Trustees to govern township operations.DuPage Township has two cemeteries under its administration. One is Alexander Cemetery in Romeoville, Illinois. The second is Boardman's Cemetery, located in Bolingbrook, Illinois. In Illinois, Township government was launched in 1849, after the Illinois Constitution of 1848 allowed voters in each county to choose to establish township governments or a county commission form of government without township units. Today, 85 of the 102 counties in Illinois operate under the township form of government. There are currently 1,433 townships in the state serving more than eight million residents.Townships are individual geographic areas that are separate from cities and counties. For example, a large city may contain several townships while one township may encompass several small towns. Township government operates at local levels and was designed to serve the basic needs of the community. It is the form of government that operates in close proximity to the people it serves. In many rural areas, townships are the only unit of government available to provide social services and road maintenance. More information: DuPage Township

The DuPage Township We Care Team sincerely cares about people and communities. We want to show that we care by not only compassionately helping individuals and families in the community, but also by empowering individuals and families in the community. “Give someone a fish and they’ll eat for a day, but teach them how to fish and they’ll eat for a lifetime.” We wholeheartedly believe that a stronger, better, more compassionate community equals stronger, better, more compassionate people, and in turn will result in a stronger, better, brighter future for humanity, not only for DuPage Township but the entire world for that matter. It is our hope that with compassion being displayed in action, we can start a domino effect of positivity and goodwill that can branch into every corner of the world. That’s why I believe local elections are so important. Because that’s where roots can be laid down to elicit these chain reactions of positive change. The more people are shown love and compassion and that there are people who truly do care, then hopefully, in turn, those people because of that, then they themselves will genuinely and unselfishly care and will then display that with their actions as well. So with that potential and with that mindset, I’m really excited for what the future has to hold and I truly believe that’s what this team represents. So it’s my mission and goal to see each and every one of them elected for that purpose. I hope we can earn your vote on April 6th! Thank you all so much!!!

First and foremost, transparency with the township residents is a must. With that being said, there are honestly not many issues facing the Collector’s office that I’m aware of at this present time. However, with the two historic cemeteries, Boardman and Alexander, that would pertain to my oversight, I would like to see within my term, if elected, the completion of the new gateway and landscaping to improve Alexander cemetery’s appearance, as well as any further potential fixing-up, maintenance, preservation, and beautification that can be done with either cemetery.
As far as my knowledge at this present time, there’s very little cost attributed to the Collector’s office. However, I would audit the duties and necessary hours for the Collector's office to operate, keeping in consideration any new or restructured duties that the community may need.
In my opinion, there should be more information about the Collector’s office on the DuPage Township website. I would do what I can to see that it’s updated so the public can find whatever information they need easily, know it more clearly, and ultimately can feel confidently satisfied and at-ease with the office’s transparency and accountability. Furthermore, I’d make sure there is an office description, contact information, and an inquiry form to request any further information. In addition, any and all FOIA laws will be followed and any funding needs will first be brought up at township board meetings where the community can participate as well.
