My experience - twenty-five successful years in Corporate America leading, negotiating, marketing, and building business relationships and strategic partners to accomplish set goals. Leadership roles in civic and political organizations. I am the best candidate because I bring a results-driven, people-centered focus to Raleigh whose actions will be guided by three core principles - Results, Resilience, Resolve. Results powered by purpose, progress, and perseverance. Resilience built through strong relationships, strategic partners and the courage to make tough decisions. Resolve defined by the drive determination and tenacity to deliver for the people.
expanding affordable, accessible healthcare guided by evidence-based medicine with a focus on prevention and reducing wait times for procedures and appointments. We must move toward fully funding Medicaid expansion while enhancing the infrastructure to accommodate the expansion. This issue does not stand alone. It is connected to income inequality, adequate housing, and transportation.
We have a decision that shapes education policy already on the books, but it has been placed in the background, while focusing on piecemeal directives - The Leandro decision ensures that every child in NC receives sound, basic education as required by the state constitution. Its funding priorities focus on capacity and equity. Under this decision it includes teacher and principal pay increases, early child good education, student support services, and highlights the gaps between low-wealth districts. We must level the field to ensure that the long-standing inequities in education are remedied and circling back to the Leandro Decision which paves the way.
My priority is a practical approach to fiscal policy, supporting strategy-based budgeting that balances responsible revenue thresholds while fully meeting the needs of North Carolinians. For consideration: Freeze the individual tax rate to 3.99% down from 4.5% and 4.2% respectively. Freeze the corporate tax rate at 2.25% (the lowest in the country) access the impact of population growth, inflation, and proceed with caution as we determine the impact of these parameters. We should not decrease the corporate tax rate to "0" by 2030. This in effect would reduce revenue funding to county and municipal governments and the revenue will need to be generated through tax increases passed on to the people.
With the current pro-gun legislation that was passed in the last legislative session, I would continue to advocate for expanding background checks, focus on prevention over punishment by funding crisis prevention and violence prevention programs, and mental health services. An immediate way to improve safety would be through Community based policing by connecting law enforcement with community groups to work together to make our communities safer. Police-community advisory committees (which I am a current member of the High Point Police Dept advisory committee) offers another way to develop methods to improve community safety.
As a community leader, I am the immediate past president of the NAACP High Point, where the organization flourished under my leadership to unmatched relevance. I served as president of Colorado Black Women for Political Action. I was recognized statewide for my leadership by being named to Black Business Ink Magazine's Power 100 list in NC and received the YWCA High Point Woman of Excellence Award.

I currently serve on the boards of GuilfordWorks, Friends of John Coltrane, Deep Riverkeeper, Southwest Renewal Foundation, Triad Minority Women's Business Expo Advisory Committee. Previously served on the League of Women of the Piedmont Board, the High Point Schools Partnership Board, YWCA HP Board. I am a graduate of the Guilford County Citizens Academy.

My values are grounded in family, faith and a deep commitment to service. I enter this race focused on delivering real solutions for working families across Guilford County, HD59 and across the State of NC.
Position/philosophy statement I believe leadership is about service, honesty, and results. Government should work to strengthen families and communities through strong schools, accessible healthcare, safe neighborhoods, and economic opportunity.

I have spent my career serving communities through ministry, education, and civic leadership. I have worked directly with families, students, and seniors, and have experience organizing around issues like education, economic opportunity, and community wellbeing. I have served in leadership roles in local and statewide organizations, building coalitions and working toward solutions that improve quality of life. These experiences have strengthened my skills in listening, collaboration, and problem solving, which are essential to effective public service and policymaking.
My most important priority is improving economic stability and quality of life for working families. This includes strengthening public education, expanding access to affordable healthcare, addressing the rising cost of housing and living expenses, and supporting safe, healthy communities. These issues are deeply connected — families cannot thrive without strong schools, stable housing, accessible healthcare, and economic opportunity. I will focus on practical, community-informed solutions that help families not just get by, but build stability and long-term success.
I believe North Carolina must prioritize strong, well-funded public schools that serve every student. This includes investing in teacher pay and retention, providing modern learning resources, and ensuring students have access to counselors, support staff, and safe facilities. I support responsible, transparent use of education funding and believe public dollars should primarily strengthen public schools. I also believe in working with educators, families, and local communities to ensure funding decisions reflect real classroom needs. Preparing students for college, careers, and skilled trades should be a central focus of education policy moving forward.
Tax policy should be fair and support long-term economic stability. I have concerns about expanding tax breaks for wealthy individuals and large corporations without clear evidence of broad public benefit. The planned reduction toward a 0% corporate tax rate should be evaluated based on whether it strengthens our workforce, economy, and communities. North Carolina must maintain the revenue needed to fund public schools, infrastructure, healthcare access, and public safety. Tax policy should reduce burdens on working families while ensuring everyone contributes fairly.
I support laws that strengthen public safety while protecting civil rights and community trust. This includes supporting training and accountability standards for law enforcement, expanding access to mental health and substance use treatment, and investing in youth programs and violence prevention efforts. I also believe we must address economic instability and lack of opportunity, which are often drivers of crime. Public safety policy should focus on prevention, effective response, and long-term community stability.
I am committed to serving with integrity, transparency, and a focus on results that improve quality of life across North Carolina. My goal is to help build stronger communities through investments in education, healthcare, economic opportunity, and public safety. I believe effective leadership requires listening carefully, working collaboratively, and making decisions based on data, fairness, and long-term impact. I want to help ensure North Carolina remains a place where families can build stable, healthy, and successful lives.
