US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISTRICT 10

Each state receives representation in the US House of Representatives in proportion to the size of its population but is entitled to at least one representative. There are currently 435 representatives, a number fixed by law since 1911. Starting in 2024, NC has 14 members of the US House; the NC State Legislature changed the district boundaries in October, 2025. Simply put, I have the right combination of leadership experience, education, grit, and determination that make me the best candidate for this office.

I am the only candidate in this race with real world experience in both healthcare and education. As a physician associate for the last 15 years, I'm accustomed to making life or death decisions. In this moment in our country's history, there are many actions to be taken that are of the same life or death caliber.

I am the only woman in this race, and the only candidate who can speak to this regime's "war on women" from a personal and professional standpoint.
Our country is reeling from the murders of American citizens by a paramilitary force claiming to be immigration enforcement. ICE must be abolished and a new, fair, lawful immigration system put in place.

Cuts to healthcare from the BBB must be rolled back. We must lay the groundwork for Medicare for All. Prescription drug prices need to be decreased, and PBMs must be eliminated, as they contribute only to red tape and corporate profit. Prior authorization practices of insurance companies should be eliminated. Support for independently owned healthcare practices should be implemented, and corporate/private equity takeover of healthcare has to be restricted.
I will fight for policies that make it possible to build a secure life: lower healthcare costs, affordable housing, and wages that keep up with reality. That means advocating for Medicare for All and capping prescription drug prices. It means investing in housing supply and first-time buyer support so families aren’t priced out of their own communities. I will push for paid family leave and subsidized childcare so people can work without falling behind. I will invest in job training, clean energy, and rural infrastructure so opportunity exists everywhere.
Cooperation between political parties is necessary, but on issues of human rights, we must NEVER compromise. It is never acceptable to rob people of their healthcare, or let kids go hungry, or discriminate against people for who they love, or kidnap children and immigrants off our streets. I will always stand on principle on issues of human rights.

When one person stands on principle, that inspires others to do the same. Courage is contagious, and it is my hope that my example of courage will spread throughout our leadership.

We must always remember that we are representatives of those who elected us and we should represent their interests, not our own.
In general, I support a Green New Deal: I support investing in clean energy, modernizing our power grid, and weatherizing homes so people pay less on their monthly bills. This also leads to less pollution that contributes to health issues.

Environmental concerns related to AI are significant. Data centers are putting pressure on power grids and driving up electricity costs. Local water supplies are being drained due to the cooling process used in many data centers. Some of these centers are placed in areas that negatively impact communities and lifestyles. Regulations need to be placed on these data centers to power them with clean energy, restrict water use and limit them to locations that will not negatively impact working families.
As a healthcare provider, I am particularly sensitive to the needs of our patients and healthcare workers - all healthcare workers, not just doctors, nurses and PAs. For too long we have been treated like expendable labor and used as revenue generators for greedy corporations who have destroyed both trust and quality of healthcare. Patients are caught in the middle, and are stuck fighting for basic needs when they should instead be able to concentrate on being healthy. Healthcare should not be a partisan issue, and healthcare providers should be running healthcare in this country. I have written legislation to ensure this happens in the future.

As an educator, I am worried for my students, who are being educated in an environment in which academic freedom is attacked and quality is being decreased. The cuts to student loan access will impact all of us, not just students, as enrollment in vital training programs drop. We must reform student financial aid and higher ed affordability.

Position/philosophy statement There is right and there is wrong, and a system that rewards greed while families struggle is wrong. I'm running to stand up for the people who keep our communities going, hold the powerful accountable, and secure liberty and justice for all.

I bring real world experience rooted in our communities to this office; from law enforcement to public education, nonprofit service, small business ownership, extensive community and political organizing, and strategic work in the public and private sectors. I've built my life on service to others, honesty, and solving problems. I understand the challenges that working families, educators and students, public servants, and local businesses face every day. I listen first, act with integrity, and take a real stand even when difficult. All to ensure people get what they deserve. My leadership is shaped by valuing the truth, a dedication to fairness, accountability, and the belief in opportunity for every person and family in our district.
In my first year in Congress the most important policy focus will be on taking the fight straight to the corrupting influence of big money by launching the effort to overturn Citizens United and rip dark money out of our elections. I will push for a constitutional amendment, real transparency, and strict limits that put voters, not corporations and billionaires, back in charge. I understand that for meaningful change to ever occur and for the typical campaign promises on important issues like the economy, healthcare, education, and the cost of living to ever be more than talk; we must break the system that puts profits over people, hold the powerful accountable, and return power to where it belongs: the hands of the people.
Americans are right to worry about their economic future, because the system is stacked against them. I will fight to regulate Ai so new technology doesn't replace workers or drive down already stagnant wages. I will push to bring manufacturing back home with tax incentives that reward companies for creating good paying American jobs. I will strengthen worker's rights, provide free job training for displaced workers and provide better assistance in hard economic times they have no control over, and invest in trade and apprenticeship programs so the jobs our economy depends on are filled by skilled, well-paid professionals; not outsourced or automated away.
To reduce polarization and ensure that government works for the people again, I will ground my service in the Constitution, the rule of law, and respect for election results verified through lawful processes. I will support reforms that elevate voter's voices over parties. Reforms like open and non-partisan primaries, ranked-choice voting, independent redistricting, automatic voter registration, and independent election enforcement. I will work across party lines, like the deliberative body of Congress is intended, using data and measurable outcomes to solve real problems, build policy from the bottom up through constant constituent engagement, and team with problem-solvers willing to put people over party affiliation.
Yes. I will prioritize environmental policies that protect our land while strengthening North Carolina's agricultural economy. From family farms in the Yadkin and Catawba Valleys, to growers across our rural communities. That means supporting safe, sustainable farming practices, healthy food systems, and policies that help American farmers stay competitive. I support a well-regulated American oil and gas industry that protects workers and our land, while accelerating the development of clean and next-generation energy production. As well as protections for our forests, parks, public lands, streams, and waterways as public goods so they remain clean, productive, and accessible for generations to come.
There is much to do and the journey will not be immediate. The future of America depends on restoring the belief that hard work still leads somewhere and there are good, honest leaders willing to do the work. This is how we restore trust:

We start on the path to success by strengthening public education. Not just as a classroom experience, but as the foundation of opportunity, work readiness, innovation, safer communities, and economic independence.

We must rebuild an economy that grows from the bottom up, not trickle down.

Homeownership has to be more accessible, limited to those with a Social Security number, corporate control broken up, and is a realistic option for everyone that works hard everyday.

Healthcare must be affordable, accessible, and humane. Ending prior authorization and the insurance stranglehold on our wellbeing.

And we must honor our promises to our veterans by delivering world-class care and real support as they age and transition back into civilian life.

I retired in 2021 due to family health concerns but was asked to return in response to the district’s need for highly qualified EC educators. I returned to part-time work at Speas Global Elementary School, where I continue today. Exceptional Children need specialists who understand law, curriculum, and advocacy, not just instruction—and families need professionals who know how to navigate complex systems on their behalf. The work of Congressman for North Carolina’s 10th District would allow me to apply these same skills problem-solving, navigating systems, enforcing policy, and advocating for those too often overlooked at the federal level, bringing practice.
Lowering the cost of living would be my top priority. That means reducing prescription drug prices, stopping price gouging, and extending Affordable Care Act premium tax credits that working families rely on for affordable health insurance. It also means demanding transparency and fairness in energy billing, protecting veterans’ benefits, and investing in broadband, transportation, and health care infrastructure especially in rural and small-town communities. Addressing the environment and climate change is essential to affordability and long-term stability, not separate from it. Communities are already paying higher costs from extreme weather, utility strain, and infrastructure damage. We must invest in clean energy and infrastructure
People experience the economy very differently depending on where they live and what they earn. While headline numbers may look strong, many families in North Carolina’s 10th District are struggling with rising health care costs, housing, utilities, and everyday expenses. To strengthen the economy, Congress should focus on practical investments that lower costs and expand opportunity. That includes investing in broadband infrastructure and education to support job growth, especially in rural communities; removing tariffs that function as hidden taxes on working families; and supporting small businesses that are the backbone of local economies.
I believe that we need to reestablish the checks and balances of power by holding those who have overstepped their authority under the Constitution or within government agencies accountable. Congress must step up to its enforcement role, reining in an executive branch that is using executive orders to subvert the Constitution and wield its power to coerce citizens, cities, states, and even other countries to bend to its will.
Addressing the environment and climate change is essential to affordability and long-term stability, not separate from it. Communities are already paying higher costs from extreme weather, utility strain, and infrastructure damage. We must invest in clean energy, resilient infrastructure, and environmental protection while helping communities understand and adapt to these changes, so families, farmers, schools, and small businesses are prepared not to be left behind. I would seek committee assignments that allow me to deliver real, practical relief for all constituents in North Carolina’s 10th District protecting public education and our environment as foundations for a stable economy and a livable future.
I strongly support Medicaid and Medicare, which provide essential health coverage for seniors, people with disabilities, veterans, and working families. Without these programs, many people would simply be unable to afford basic medical care. I also support restoring Affordable Care Act premium subsidies. Nearly one million North Carolinians receive coverage through the ACA marketplace, and tens of thousands of residents in the 10th Congressional District rely on those subsidiesVoters are frustrated with policies that raise prices instead of lowering them. Tariffs that increase the cost of equipment and groceries, congressional gridlock that ignores local needs, and health care costs that force families to delay treatment all take a toll. Many are also concerned about heavy handed federal enforcement that threatens due process and creates fear in communities that rely on immigrant labor in agriculture and construction. This includes the aggressive ICE nonconststutional enforcement

In 2024, I ran for District 72 in the State Assembly, and during that campaign, I had the privilege of sitting down with voters at their kitchen tables and hearing firsthand about their everyday needs. That experience showed me the importance of listening and delivering real solutions. I bring a results-driven, people-first approach, and as a first-year Congressman, I’ll work hard, stay accessible, and always put the people of this district first—because a handshake is a deal, and my word is my bond.
In my first year, my top priority will be strengthening our economy and making life more affordable for North Carolinians. I’ll work to bring down tariffs to sensible levels, encourage manufacturing, and help lower the cost of everyday goods. These steps will not only put more money in people’s pockets but also create jobs and grow our local economy. I ran for office to deliver real results for the people, and that means focusing on practical solutions that improve daily life, not partisan politics.
I will pursue policies that strengthen the economy, create jobs, and make life more affordable for working families. That includes reducing tariffs to lower costs for consumers and boost domestic manufacturing, investing in infrastructure and workforce development to create good-paying jobs, and supporting small businesses so they can grow and hire locally. My focus will always be on practical solutions that improve everyday life, not partisan politics, because North Carolinians need results they can see in their paychecks and their communities.
I will focus on listening to all voices, finding common ground, and prioritizing results over partisan politics. That means working across party lines to pass practical legislation on issues like the economy, education, and infrastructure—areas where we can actually deliver for the people. I’ll push for transparency, accountability, and collaboration in Congress so government works efficiently, and I’ll encourage policies that reward cooperation, not obstruction, because North Carolinians deserve a government that gets things done, not one stuck in gridlock.
Yes. I believe we can protect our environment while also supporting economic growth. I will prioritize practical, results-oriented policies like investing in clean energy innovation, promoting energy efficiency, and supporting sustainable farming and manufacturing practices here in North Carolina. My goal is to address environmental challenges in ways that create jobs, lower costs, and strengthen our communities, not impose burdensome regulations that hurt working families.
I support enforcing immigration law in a fair, professional, and accountable way. ICE should focus on serious criminal threats, respect due process, and operate under strong oversight. At the same time, we need comprehensive immigration reform to fix our broken system and restore trust in communities, so enforcement is effective and humane.

I am the only candidate in this race with long-standing experience in both political organizing and education. As a historian, I have studied the faults in our political system: excessive corporate influence; barriers to people's political participation; intense polarization and red tape that make government barely function. I have been motivated to fight bullying and systemic oppression from a young age, and since moving to Winston-Salem in 2013 I have organized with my neighbors, colleagues, and students to make this world more survivable for everyone. My historical perspective and diverse local and international connections make me the ideal candidate to beat Pat Harrigan.
I joined this race to step up against the anti-constitutional violence currently terrorizing our neighbors. I will use the legislative and persuasive powers of Congress to stop the human rights violations and seek accountability for those which have occurred, and aggressively reduce funding to the Department of Homeland Security. We must stop racial profiling, stop detaining non-criminals, stop separating families, and stop illegal detentions and deportations. We must respect due process, habeas corpus, and basic human rights. If you live here, we support your right to live.
My top priority is to make this country affordable. No matter how hard we work, life seems to get harder: electricity and grocery prices keep soaring, along with the impossibility of healthcare and childcare prices. Immediately, I plan to introduce a $20/hour minimum wage, tied to future inflation. I aim to move to make healthcare more affordable, introducing universal healthcare policies. I will push to subsidize childcare, helping to ease the burden on families. Electricity should be accessible to all, and I will support investments in sustainable grids and energy efficient technologies.
As someone deeply involved in political organizing in D-10, I understand the frustration of Americans who want to see action from the government but have been let down time and time again. I believe the best way to decrease polarization is to bring people together on issues that matter. The majority of Americans agree that this country is becoming unaffordable; everyone wants better healthcare. I believe that polarization is at the core of the ineffectiveness of the U.S. government, and it can only be solved by a mass mobilization of people focusing on what they have in common. I plan to build new routes of communication between people across District and the federal government: make congress govern again.
The US is a leading contributor to the climate change ravaging our planet, and we need to join the rest of the world in protecting the planet for future generations. Farmworkers deserve protection from excessive heat, pesticide poisoning, and punitive raids, and farmers deserve support from the federal government to deal with changing international conditions. Clean energy jobs are good for everyone, and we need to support their expansion and bring back cancelled tax incentives.
I bring international historical knowledge to this position, and will help educate NC voters about our international decisions. Nobody voted for endless wars. I believe in the dignity and self-determination of people around the world, from Venezuela to Greenland. Our foreign policy should leverage our tremendous global influence to promote peace, human rights, and representative democracy. We need to end executive overreach: only the legislature declares war. As a Jew who believes that Palestinians are not my enemy, I will insist that Congress listen to the sympathy that the majority of Americans feel for the Palestinian people. The US should recognize Palestinian statehood, regardless of whether or not a two-state solution is currently viable. We should push the government of Israel to immediately stop the genocide, apartheid, and Mar-a-Lagification of Palestine.
