I’m the best choice because I don’t come from the swamp — I come from here. I’m not running to build a political career. I’m running because District 5 deserves a representative who listens, shows up, and remembers who they work for. Someone who measures success by what improves back home — not by titles, donors, or seniority.
For 40 years, I worked outside of politics where accountability isn’t optional. Credit isn’t given for good intentions, only results. If something doesn’t work, fix it.
That mindset is missing in Washington. Career politicians stay so long they stop feeling the pressure from home. They learn how to survive the system instead of serving the people.
This district needs A New Voice with real-world experience.
First, our local economy. Wages in District 5 continue to lag behind the state average, and job growth is narrow. Too many young people feel they have to leave to build a future.
Second, access to healthcare. Rural hospitals, clinics, and providers are stretched thin. Families drive farther, wait longer, and pay more just to get basic care.
Third, accountability in representation. After 20 years in Washington, it’s clear my opponent is far more comfortable inside the system than at home. Seniority hasn’t translated into real, visible improvements across District 5.
These issues aren’t abstract. They affect whether families can stay, work, and thrive here. And they’ve gone unaddressed for far too long.
Federal dollars should reach the people they’re meant to help.
Too often, money flows from Washington to Raleigh and gets tangled in bureaucracy before it ever reaches our counties. I will work to make sure funding flows directly to local communities whenever possible — where leaders understand local needs best.
That means advocating for infrastructure, broadband, healthcare, and workforce investments that are tailored to District 5, not filtered through layers of state red tape.
Washington needs to empowers local solutions instead of controlling them.
I will work for all my neighbors, not just Republicans.
I’m conservative, but I’m practical. If an idea helps families in District 5, I don’t care which party it comes from. I care whether it works.
Gridlock only serves Washington insiders. Cooperation serves people back home. I’ll work with anyone who’s serious about results, accountability, and improving life in our district.
No one owns me, I have taken no campaign money.
We need to continue to rework our environmental policies to protect American interests and our economy. We can have the best of both worlds without bowing to environmental extremists.
After 20+ years in Congress, Virginia Foxx’s record is clear. She’s held real power: Chair & Ranking Member, House Education & Labor Committee, and member of Ways & Means and Financial Services Committees. These roles bring seniority and leverage, but what has it delivered at home? After two decades: no major district-specific economic initiatives, rural wages lag state average, healthcare access shows little improvement, young people keep leaving, and no major housing or infrastructure investments. Job growth remains narrow, often lost in bureaucracy. Experience in Washington is real; results in NC-05 are hard to see. If experience matters, why doesn’t life feel better here? We don’t need more titles—we need results. It’s time for A New Voice—focused on jobs, housing, opportunity, and accountability.

I am running for Congress with a simple guiding belief. Government exists to serve the people, not political parties, not special interests, and not career politicians. My approach to public service is grounded in accountability, transparency, and r

I bring real world experience as an entrepreneur who has started, grown, and managed successful businesses, creating jobs and meeting payroll without relying on government. That experience taught me budgeting discipline, long term planning, and accountability for results. I have worked directly with employees, customers, and communities, which keeps my focus on practical solutions rather than ideology. I am accessible, willing to listen, and committed to representing all constituents. My skills in problem solving, leadership, and fiscal responsibility prepare me to serve effectively and responsibly in Congress.
In my first year, as in every year, my focus will be changing how the job is done. Too often, Congress operates to serve party interests rather than the people it represents. I would work to bring the voices of constituents directly into the legislative process through open communication, transparency, and regular engagement. My goal is to represent the will of the district, not the priorities of party leadership. By governing independently, listening carefully, and putting public service ahead of political careerism, I intend to restore trust and ensure decisions in Washington reflect the people who live with their consequences.
I will work to strengthen the systems people rely on every day. That includes improving public education by supporting safe schools, effective classrooms, and decisions made close to home. I will also support practical steps that make health care more affordable and easier to navigate, especially for those managing chronic conditions. In addition, I believe strong local economies come from well-prepared students and workers, so I support partnerships that connect education, training, and real job opportunities. My goal is to help create a future that feels stable, fair, and hopeful.
I am a conservative. True conservatives don't blame. They accept responsibility and fix things. Blame causes polarization. To reduce polarization, I will approach the job very differently from the current representative. For years, our district has had little access to its member of Congress, and that lack of engagement increases frustration and division. I will hold regular town halls, answer correspondence, and keep open lines of communication so people feel heard. In Washington, I will work across committees and party lines when it leads to real solutions, not partisan theater. My focus is effective, respectful governance that puts constituents ahead of political careerism.
I believe we can protect our natural resources with practical, locally informed policies that do not burden working people. I will support efforts to keep our air and water clean, strengthen forest and wildfire management, and improve the resilience of rural communities. I also support incentives for American energy innovation, including cleaner technologies that lower costs over time. My focus is on balanced, science-informed solutions that respect the environment, protect public health, and keep our economy strong.
A major reason I am running is to show that someone outside the political system can earn the trust of voters and serve effectively. If we can prove that an independent-minded candidate, funded by regular people and accountable to them, can win in a district like ours, it opens the door for real change in both parties. Our country needs representatives who answer to the people, not to party structures or large donors. My goal is to demonstrate a model of public service that is transparent, accessible, and focused on practical results. If we succeed, it will encourage more citizens to step forward and help reshape our politics into something that reflects the voices of the people rather than the interests of the political class.

I’ve watched the country and party that I’ve worked in and that I’ve served continue to spiral away from the values that I was raised on. Those values are tied to being an Ambassador for Christ and a follower of the Constitution.
I can’t sit by while the country becomes more vulnerable to our historic enemies. I can’t watch our citizens rights be violated with state sponsored executions meant to intimidate us from demonstrating our rights as Americans. Rights that our forefathers gave their lives for. Every battle in America since 1776 has been against tyranny. Every American that served in World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam Afghanistan, Iraq, they all fought against dictators or Soviet Bloc backed adversaries. This is critical.
To piggyback on my first statement, we have to do our best to restore our relationship with our NATO allies. The only nations in the world that benefit from this division are China, Russia, North Korea, our other historical adversaries. We have done major damage to global security by fealty to Russia. I know this because my first duty station was in Germany in 1988 was 70 miles from Russian armor. I had endless briefings on operational security concerning Russia. We have forgotten many of those lessons and the division that our adversaries have caused has been increasingly damaging. The damage to our global standing is not only from our missteps internationally, but also domestically. Bad actors have paid our social media influencers.
We are the richest country in the world. And the billionaires are being created and getting exponentially richer. I have no problem with that. It’s part of the American dream. However, I have a problem when the money continues to funnel to the top, and these Americans with great wealth and influence, change the law to insulate them from having any accountability. When the richest Americans appear to be above the law, it goes against the contracts that were written in metaphorical
blood by our forefathers. Sliding towards tyranny insults the service of those who stormed the beaches of Normandy hoisted the flag at Iwo Jima or dumped the tea in the Boston Harbor. The rich made their money on the back of the Americans and they can kick in now.
The most patriotic thing we can do right now, as Americans is to tell the truth and insist on the truth. The division has been created largely by lies and falsehoods. No one is eating the cats or the dogs. And the 2020 election was the most secure in American history. Let’s get that straight. So, we need to address the source of these lies and propaganda channels. Our intelligence communities have traced their sources, However, our administration has failed to act on this. And our representative in the fifth district has done nothing about this and allowed this administration to disable our cyber security concerning Russia. A nation state that has a goal of dividing us. Traditional conservatives would understand that Reagan would be irate.
Although, I had limited involvement in resisting the AI data centers in Walnut Cove, that is a case study in corporate bullying. Those are the kinds of corporate entities I will not support. The irony of the data centers is that the billionaires will use this AI to socially engineer our media networks to drive us further towards fealty to the authoritarian regime. In fact, if we allow this, we will be supporting the mechanism that ensures our own subjugation. It was also indicative of where we are as a country and the emergency we face. The opposition was very heavy in the lead up to the vote, but the good old boys and the corporate bad actors had already rigged the outcome. I will work to support the people of the fifth district.
I’ve worked hard my whole life. Before I got a work permit, I mowed grass and pulled tobacco. After that, I went to work in my family construction business for my uncles. I left NC State, after walking on as a football player, to join the Army and I came back and walked on again it at Western Carolina. I was a young republican at Western Carolina. And the reason I was a republican was because my hero was a republican. A war hero. A third generation naval Academy graduate he was captured in Vietnam and came back to serve his country in the Senate. He was later disparaged towards the end of his career and that’s when I knew that my party had taken the wrong turn. There was not a more patriotic man in America than John McCain. What I learned was that prior to his exit that he was working on Campaign finance reform. He knew the corporate money was poisoning our politics. He was also calling out the influence of foreign adversaries. I love my country and the fifth district.
