For more than 25 years, I worked long hours in restaurants and hotels, serving people face-to-face as well as solving problems behind the scenes. That experience shaped who I am and taught me how to listen, work collaboratively, and find practical solutions that meet people’s real needs. The U.S. House of Representatives was meant to be the people’s voice, a place where everyday Americans are heard and represented. Too often, that mission has been lost. I have spent my life serving others, and I’m running for Congress to bring real-world experience, accountability, and a people-first approach back to Washington.
My first year in office will be focused on restoring accountability to ICE and federal immigration enforcement. ICE has operated outside its Constitutional limits for far too long, using disturbing tactics that have traumatized communities and violated basic civil liberties. Unchecked power has no place in a democracy, and no agency is above the Constitution. We do not trade Americans’ Constitutional rights for the illusion of safety. ICE must be held accountable, its actions brought under real oversight, and those responsible for abuses required to answer for their conduct.
Americans are being forced to shoulder rising costs while wages fail to keep pace. No one working full time should have to sacrifice every day just to get by. I will pursue policies that raise wages as well as strengthen workers’ bargaining power, ensuring pay keeps up with the cost of living so families can build real stability. Affordable healthcare is also essential to economic security. I support expanding Medicare so Americans can buy in for a lower-cost option, and making Affordable Care Act premium tax credits permanent so getting medical care doesn’t bankrupt working families. By raising wages and lowering essential costs, we can rebuild a strong middle class and create an economy that works for everyone.
Our government works best when lawmakers focus on results and not petty party politics. I believe elected officials must negotiate honestly and work through real differences, even if that means closed-door negotiations to cut through political theater to deliver real results. Too often today, party loyalty is rewarded more than problem-solving, and the American people pay the price.
Once in Congress, I will demand collaboration and accountability. I will work with anyone who is serious about getting real results, and I will remind my colleagues that once elected, we serve the people, not a political party.
Yes. I will prioritize legislation that accelerates the transition to clean, renewable energy. Investing in clean energy protects our environment and safeguards the health of future generations, while also strengthening America’s economic competitiveness. Clean energy is not just an environmental issue, it is an economic opportunity. By expanding domestic clean energy production, we can lower energy costs for families, create good-paying American jobs, and position the United States as a global leader in the clean energy economy. I want America to lead the world in producing and exporting clean energy.
Over the course of this campaign, I’ve learned more from my fellow North Carolinians than I ever could have imagined. This is an incredible journey for someone who has never run for office before, and I say that proudly because it means I’m not a career politician, but someone who genuinely wants to serve the people. Throughout this campaign, I’ve continued working a full-time job and living paycheck to paycheck, just like so many families across our district. Even so, we’ve kept pace with well-funded, politically connected opponents because this campaign is powered by people who believe in what we’re building together. This campaign wasn’t built overnight, and it wasn’t built through insider connections. It was built one conversation and one handshake at a time and that’s how we’ll continue to move forward every day.

I bring a combination of public service, executive leadership, and policy experience. I am a U.S. Air Force veteran, a former mayor, and a lifelong public servant with firsthand experience balancing budgets, managing teams, and serving diverse communities. I have also drafted substantive legislative proposals addressing health care, taxation, housing affordability, and democratic reform. My background equips me to approach this office with discipline, accountability, and a practical understanding of how government decisions affect real people.
In my first year, my priority would be lowering the real cost of living for working families. That means advancing legislation to make health care affordable and predictable, addressing housing supply and costs, and ensuring wages and taxes are aligned with today’s economic realities. I would also work to strengthen democratic accountability, including fair representation and transparent governance, so that policies reflect the will of the people and are implemented responsibly.
I would pursue policies that reduce economic uncertainty by lowering essential costs and strengthening long-term stability. That includes making health care more affordable and predictable, increasing the supply of affordable housing, enforcing competition laws to prevent price-gouging and monopolistic practices, and simplifying the tax system so working families can plan with confidence. I also support investments in workforce development and infrastructure to create stable jobs and ensure the economy works for people who rely on wages, not speculation.
I will approach the office with a commitment to honesty, respect, and constitutional process. That means working across party lines where possible, grounding decisions in facts and law, and listening to constituents with differing views. I will focus on solving practical problems rather than scoring political points, support transparent decision-making, and uphold Congress’s responsibilities so that debate leads to action and government functions effectively for the people it serves.
Yes. I would prioritize environmental policies that protect public health, strengthen resilience, and ensure responsible stewardship of natural resources. That includes supporting clean air and water protections, investing in infrastructure that reduces pollution and withstands extreme weather, and encouraging energy efficiency and innovation that lowers costs for households. Environmental policy should be guided by science, accountability, and long-term economic stability, recognizing that protecting the environment and supporting a strong economy are not competing goals.
I am running for Congress with a clear governing ethic: the office does not exist for personal power, publicity, or advantage. I will not use public office for self-promotion, political theater, or to benefit myself. My focus is on doing the work the Constitution assigns to members of Congress — legislating carefully, conducting oversight responsibly, making decisions based on facts, and acting transparently. I believe trust in government is rebuilt not by words, but by restraint, accountability, and consistent service to the public.

I’m running for Congress in North Carolina’s 6th District because government should meet big problems with big-hearted, practical solutions that help the most people. As Mayor of High Point and a small business owner, I’ve delivered results by bringing unlikely partners together and focusing on what works. My goal is simple: make Washington work so families can breathe easier and democracy answers to people, not power. My priorities include lowering the cost of living, protecting healthcare and Social Security, strengthening education and workforce pathways, and preserving our democracy—because families shouldn’t have to choose between rent, medicine, and groceries, and because everyday people, not big donors, should set the agenda.
In my first year, my top priority would be delivering real economic relief for working families by expanding access to affordable housing and lowering everyday costs. Housing affordability is a growing crisis across our district, affecting families, workforce stability, and local economies. Alongside this work, I would prioritize widely supported government reforms that strengthen ethics, transparency, and accountability, protect our democracy, and restore trust in government. I would also focus on bringing federal resources back to the district so communities can grow sustainably and create good-paying jobs. My approach is grounded in practical, bipartisan solutions that deliver results and prove government can work for the people.
I will pursue economic policies that raise wages, lower costs, and provide real security for working families. I support raising the federal minimum wage and ending sub-minimum wages so no one working full-time is left unable to cover basic costs. I favor a responsible, stepwise approach that protects jobs and small businesses, including a phased-in wage increase paired with targeted relief for small employers and strong enforcement against wage theft. I will also fight to ensure access to good-paying jobs, affordable healthcare and housing, education and broadband, clean air and water, secure retirement, and fair banking—so every family has a real shot at stability and opportunity.
I will reduce polarization and improve government effectiveness by advancing reforms that restore trust and realign incentives in public service. I have joined Take BAC Congress, a bipartisan initiative focused on restoring balance, accountability, and public trust through common-sense reforms. I will fight to reduce conflicts of interest by enacting congressional term limits, banning stock trading by members of Congress, overturning Citizens United, enforcing strong ethics rules, and restoring regular order. When voters see transparency, fairness, and competence, polarization drops—and democracy works better. I believe government functions best when leaders prioritize stewardship over self-interest and put people ahead of power.
Yes. I will prioritize environmental policies that treat climate change as a public health and economic issue. I support coordinated federal action to cut pollution, protect frontline communities, and invest in clean air, safe drinking water, and climate resilience. I also support moving toward ending special tax treatment for oil and gas, with a responsible, stepwise approach that removes the most distortionary subsidies first and focuses on the largest producers. Any reforms must include strong worker and community transition support and guardrails to protect energy affordability and reliability, ensuring we cut pollution without harming working families or regional economies.
My campaign is grounded in the belief that government should work for people, not special interests, and that progress is built by bringing communities together around shared goals. I bring proven executive leadership, a record of delivering results, and a community-first approach shaped by service, collaboration, and accountability. I believe every family deserves dignity, opportunity, and a fair shot—no matter their ZIP code. In Congress, I will focus on lowering costs, expanding opportunity, and advancing reforms that strengthen ethics, transparency, and accountability so democracy answers to people, not power. I will listen before acting, lead with integrity, and fight to restore trust by making government work effectively for the public. This campaign is about proving that practical, reform-minded leadership can deliver real results for families across the district.
Position/philosophy statement
I believe in accountability, fairness, and the rule of law. Government authority comes with responsibility, and no one is above the law. Oversight? Not optional but essential. Decisions should be guided by facts. A real leader has courage to fix it.

I bring federal experience from the inside, with decades of real-world leadership grounded in service, accountability, and the Constitution. Decades ago, I took an oath to uphold the Constitution, and that commitment never ends. As a federal civilian supervisor, I enforced the laws Congress passed, by the rule of law, ensured accountability, trust, and fairness within a complex tax system. As a woman who has made hard decisions inside government, I know how federal policy choices impact families. My work required strong communication, negotiation skills, resolving conflicts, and delivering results for everyone. I’m a problem-solver who pushes back when government crosses the line between right and legal and I’ll do the same in Congress.
My top priority in my first year would be telling this administration we’ve had ENOUGH! Then, restoring accountability and constitutional oversight in Congress. There is much work ahead including impeachment proceedings. Being part of the Citizens’ Impeachment movement because accountability must apply to everyone, including the president. I signed a term-limit pledge because Congress should never become a permanent career. Having served from the inside government, I’ve seen how people don’t do their jobs and must be held accountable. When oversight fails, families pay the price and trust breaks down. My firsthand experience inside government allows me immediate action to restore accountability and uphold clear legal and ethical limits.
No one should have to worry about whether they can feed their family, put gas in the car, or pay the next utility bill. My platform includes expanding free high-speed internet to everyone including families and small businesses just getting started. If we can eliminate even one monthly bill, we give families breathing room and strengthen local economies. That’s real, immediate relief without raising taxes on working families. Government should deliver services directly to the people it serves and not power to the President. That includes restoring the first-time homebuyer tax credit so more Americans can afford a home, and cutting unnecessary red tape so small builders can construct sustainable, affordable housing in our communities.
My experience working in the system allows me to hit the ground running on day 1. I learned how to listen, negotiate, and find workable solutions effectively and without compromising core principles, I will focus on facts, and accountability. I have a duty to protect and make decisions for the best interests of whom I serve; the people of this district and will do so without theatrics. By showing up prepared, respecting differing viewpoints, agreeing to disagree, and insisting on lawful, transparent decision-making, I will work to rebuild trust and improve how government functions for the people it serves. This can be done but it takes an effective leader to stand up and not back down. This is the very reason why I stepped up to fight.
I will aggressively defend and strengthen environmental protections that safeguard clean air, safe drinking water, and public health. My focus is protecting air, water, investing in resilient infrastructure, and supporting pollution-reducing innovation without burdening working families. Environmental laws exist to protect people and wildlife. Rolling them back per the current Congressman for short-term economic gain is wrong. I will support clean energy, restore stronger EPA protections, protect public lands, and invest in sustainable infrastructure including bringing back federal clean energy tax credits. As we transition to renewable energy, I will support bills that provide training and good jobs for workers who power our economy.
I am running for Congress because this country is in crisis. Our government no longer serves us; it serves them. It should protect us, work with accountability and the rule of law.
On Jan. 20, 25, I was mandated to carry out actions that crossed the line between legal and right. I had courage and resisted because doing what’s right mattered more than following orders. Eventually, I realized the government I had served and raised my family under was no longer recognizable. Watching from the inside wasn’t enough. So, I stepped down from that position and stepped up to fight. I could no longer be part of the problem.
I led diverse teams and earned trust through clear communication and fair decision-making.
I understand federal policy and I will bring that same disciplined, results-focused approach to legislating, oversight, and constituent service in Congress.
My pledge is simple: I will be present, I will fight for you, and I will be honest. I would be honored to earn your support
