ROWAN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

The 5-member Board sets the policy for the county, determining the strategic vision for the county, appoints a county manager, attorney and others to serve the county, adopts ordinances, including zoning, and establishes an annual budget, which includes setting the tax rate and calling bond referendums. Commissioners are elected at-large in partisan elections in even-numbered years; all serve staggered 4-year terms.

I bring a unique perspective through my charity, my work as a Waffle House server, and my outsider's perspective inclusive of new ideas and honest, transparent government. I am an analytical, data, and finance-based candidate willing to look at the budget and look for ways to incorporate suggestions into a bigger picture. I want to govern for everyone in Rowan and not just those that vote for me.
Data Center Usage of County Resources and Infrastructure. Land Preservation and Housing Affordability. Besides these, I would prioritize small businesses to help jumpstart innovation in agriculture specifically in Rowan County locally.
The most effective role for County Commissioners to play is voting a budget for the local School Systems, be involved in influencing the Public School Systems, Private Schools, and Charter School where our direction as a county can go forwards. Developing an accounting practice that generates revenue toward public-private partnerships.
An Air Taxi Fare Service and other inclusion of diverse businesses that have yet to move into Rowan County; I am open to both considering the formation of a more traditional taxi fare-based solutions, or more private contractors who come in with applications.

Novel Small Business Financing Solutions may be explored and considered for a variety of County Projects, from business development to land preservation.
Moving out the Health and Social Services Departments to the West End Plaza would free up space for a possible conversation of the Sheriff's Department moving into their current locations with more immediate access to the Interstate.
Solar Panels on roofs of the West End Plaza and Crypto Miners to generate heat to save on cost of Natural Gas will generate revenue on that savings for the newer County Government building projects and other County ambitions.

Vice Chair of the Rowan County Planning Board, Having served on the PB since 2021. Member of the Board of Adjustment, and Former Member of the Rowan Transit Authority. Served on other community boards in various capacities
out of control spending and paying down debt without raising taxes. Current board has been kicking the can down the road for too long. Schools are aging and county employees are leaving for neighboring counties to earn better wages.
Requiring the current Board of Education to implement a good redistricting plan and even out the school enrollment. This has been an issue for over 30 years and every board refuses to address the issue. Some schools may need to be closed and have the students reassigned to schools that are under capacity
work with the Economic Development Board to bring in High Paying Jobs and not just the every day warehouse jobs that have been coming for the past 6 years. While I am grateful for the jobs we have been getting it is time to really seek out the executive roles and recruit some corporate HQ's
currently working on moving the Health Department into a newer facility. Once that is complete the next step is to remodel the current building for the Dept of Social Service or move them into the facility that the HD is going to relocate to. That is a 330K sq ft facility and we have plenty of room to refurbish for DSS
As a county Commissioner I will be a voice for ALL OF ROWAN COUNTY, not just the Salisbury Elite as some of the current commissioners are now. I have no aspiration beyond this current role and Rowan is my only concern. I have no aspirations to get to Raleigh as some of the other candidates have.
