There is a backlog of cases in estates and special Proceedings. Citizens of Moore County shouldn't have to wait 6 months for the court to approve and close an estate file because of a backlog. Furthermore, they shouldn't have to wait several weeks for an estate to be opened in order to begin handling a loved ones estate.
The current clerk received an 85.9% on his 2023 audit showing his inexperience directly affected this office's performance.
Bond forfeiture funds were not handled correctly resulting in a loss of over $200,000 of money for our county's school system, the Pilot published an article on this issue.
Furthermore, the jury commission was mishandled in 2024, resulting in a delay for jury trials being held.
Simply, I would uphold my oath and fulfill the duties of the office as my top priority. My years of experience in the court system between Chatham and Moore County give me the skills and experience needed to do this job properly.
